its keeping his name in the papers and coul dget albums sold also

Not a chance. Believe me if you read most of what is printed in the British press about him, the vast majority is ridiculously negetive, and it is one of the prime reasons Rudebox underperformed, due to the constant negetivity in the papers. If the public read day in day out how it flopped and was panned by critics (which is so untrue as it got brilliant reviews from serious music mags and broadsheet papers) there is little chance it is going to persuade them to rush out and buy it don't you think?

well in a way i dont feel sorry for him as when gary was getting trashed by the papers robbie did nothing to help so in a way what goes around comes around

What on earth could he have done to help? Firstly, back then Robbie and Gary did'nt like eachother at all, so he would've been the last person to do anything. I don't remember any of the other lads doing anything and it's because there is nothing that one person can do to stop the press in thier vindictive witch hunts. It happens to all big stars seemingly, look at George Michael (who recently said how disgusting he finds the press towards Rob) for instance, the press tried to ruin his career and thankfully did'nt succeed but they certainly damaged it immencly. The sort of treatment Gary got was expected as he was dropped from his label, the press love nothing more than a star to fall like that. It happens all the time, more recently with Joss Stone when her album flopped in the UK. But with Robbie it is endless, especially with the 3am girls from the Mirror, they have something personally against him, there is definatly a history between them, most of their stories could be written by a 9 year old. It is nothing but recycled venom. For expample, when Rudebox came about I remember Robbie said that he was not rapping, just speaking. That was 6 months ago and had already been reported in the media at the time, but the 3am girls obviously ran out of ideas to slag him off with so took that quote from October of last year, and made a huge story a few weeks ago about how Robbie said he was c**p at rapping and even went as far as to put it on the front page with the headline "ROBBIE: I AM c**p". I mean that is just a perfect example of their dislike for him, they could'nt even make up something new so they search back for a quote 6 months old in their desperate attemtp to make him look bad and have him over the front page of the paper so people would think he admitted he was c**p when he said nothing of the sort. It is beyond anything I've seen towards a singer before, especially when there is no particular reason for it. No wonder he does'nt live in the UK and has'nt even been there since 7 months ago. I certainly would'nt want to if I was him. <_<

Well maybe he couldn't have helped but he didn't have to keep putting Gary down himself. And I get the feeling that if the reunion tour and the subsequent album success and the forthcoming tour success hadn't happened maybe a particular someone would have had a few more digs to make.

Hope he doesn't join them, but as the subject is all press-pants its neither here nor there really is it? Besides he's good on his own and they are just great as a foursome. As Jonathon Ross said "who needs five, four is perfect". :D

how many digs did robbie say, where are take that now ???he used that line quiet a few times and i believe he never in a million years expecte dthe lads to make a comeback, and to make a comeback and completly outsell him in the album chart he definitly didnt expect, robbie ran gary barlow into the ground when his solo career took off with angles the press destroyed gary and robbie laughed at it
intersting to see robbie in take that

J.Ross is so right , I mean, how can you beat perfection. :cheer:

TBH i wouldn't mind, if Take That were happy with Robiie back and robbie with it then Happy Days :) i don't know what would happen with the forums though  would we still have 2 seperate ones, or one as a.......SUB-FORUM :o :o :P

Don't see Robbie actually rejoining Take That. That would be career suicide and too humbling, like he would become another backing singer to Gary Barlow.

Would have thought more likely there could be a single by Take That, featuring Robbie Williams.

Or he could join them on stage for a few songs.

well said...the others would have never rejoined if they had the same solo career success as Robbie has

Yer imagine :) if Gary Barlow was as successful as Robbie on a solo career, i doubt he would have rejoined in a Take That reunion :)

But what happens now? Take That will be asked in interviews about Robbie rejoining Take That. They can say it is only rumours but when asked if they would like him to rejoin, they might have to say he is always welcome (as they have in the past regarding the tour) just to look good to the public. Then it just keeps the rumour going.
im sure they will be smart enough to end any rumors rather then let this c**p continue
they should say it's all rumours and robbie can make his own mind up whether he wants to join take that or not :)

And can you blame him? He was a 20 year old kid back then on all sorts of drugs and was being told by everyone that he wouldn’t amount to anything and Gary would be the next G Michael, so when the complete opposite occurred of course he was going to gloat and brag about it, especially at that age. Gary and Robbie were never and will never be mates. But what annoys me is that people seem to think Robbie just left TT are slagged them off out of the blue for no particular reason. They just kicked him out of the band when he needed help and was in such a bad way, so of course he was going to be bitter, anyone would be. And it happened so long ago, it's about time people move on if you ask me.

And TT are indeed bigger than Robbie sales-wise at the moment, but only in one country.. the UK! It is the same with saying Westlife are bigger than the Red Hot Chili Peppers now cause their covers albums sold more than Stadium Arcadium in the UK, but we both know that SA has sold near 6.5m worldwide, compared to Pestlife's mere 1.3-1.4m ^_^ It's the same with Rob, you could easily say Wetflies are bigger than him right now due to their UK sales, but in reality if Rob was to put on tickets for 10 nights at the 90,000 seating new Wembley Stadium then it would probebly sell out in no time, whilst I somehow doubt Westlife could manage to sell out even one night tbh. And also, Rudebox is an electro/dance/rap album that got absolutelly zero promotion from Robbie or even his insanly useless record company EMI, that sort of music is and has never been anywhere near as big in the UK at least, as pop music, so to compare it to TT's album of commercial pop that has got such a huge amount of promotion from the lads is ridiculous, but that's the British press for you. They don't look at facts and never have done. And seem to think anywhere apart from the UK is irrelivent. <_<

Nah, mentioning his name automatically gets them in the paper daily. They are not stupid. They could of course easily just refuse to answer questions on the matter, but they obviously have their reasons for not doing so which is fair enough.

i disagree jackie, gary is by far a better singer than robbie and robbie is a far better performer than gary

atthe moment take that are far far biggerthan robbie and without take that in the first place there would be no robbie and without robbie;s solo success we wouldnt have the take that success now, they are all a package and no one is bigger than the other

Gary may on a few listens have a deeper tone to his voice, but he can't match Robbie on "feel" and actual delivery of a lyric or a melody line. Robbie puts much more emotion into his delivery than pretty much anyone else out there today.

Of course you will say I am wrong because I am a Robbie fan and your preference is Gary. But Robbie is a far better singer that people realise or give due too, as a performer Robbie is far superior in every way imaginable.

Although you are being fair on the Robbie wouldn;t have been a star without TT and visa versa, please do not trivialise 10yrs of huge solo success that Robbie has achieved, that had to be gained and maintained no matter what launch pad he jumped from.

Of course TT are doing great in the UK, and brill it is too but please do not judge facts in just what the UK is doing, because that would be wrong. Put globally, Robbie is far bigger.

I agree. Robbie has an amazing voice IMO. He deserves to be Britain's number one. I think he is under-rated as a singer, because of his tabloid escapades and showmanship overshadow his talent in many people's eyes (or ears). His voice has a purity and versitilty Gary's lacks. Gary's voice can be a bit bland. He really needs backing singers for most his songs. Forever Love was Gary at his finest. But Patience and his duet with Leona show how he has worked on his voice.
