Posted April 16, 200619 yr Ok, here are more than 100 quotes of celebrities, producers and MUCH MORE on Britney. Please post more quotes if you have any. Thanks FEMALE SINGERS Christina Aguilera: - On "World News Tonight" last week, they interviewed Christina Aguilera. They asked her what she thought of Britney, and Christina said she loves Britney and that they are like sisters. And then Christina went on saying that she heard a song on Britney's upcoming album, and her voice is amazing. Christina then said that she might have to start to have voice competitions with her, because her natural voice is beautiful. Christina also said she liked Britney's voice more than her own. (Reported on another forum) (March 2005) - Of course her old friend Britney arrived at the same time, thus marking the start of a classic pop fued which is still rumbling on to this day, if the papers are to be believed. Except they're not, insists Christina. 'Britney and I laugh about it' She says. A couple of years back when the supposed bitching reached an apex, Christina wrote a letter to Britney. 'Its said 'We've got to stick together. People will always pitt us against each other but we have to stay strong and remember our background'. Recently a US newspaper had reported that Christina had said Britney had 'let herself go' while pregnant. 'It's sick' sighs Christina. 'It's lies but I have to look at the positive not the negative. I'm making my records - she's being a mom - we're both in great places'. 'We're really happy for each other'. Although no longer best friends (neither attended each others weddings), they are still in touch. Christiana sent a basket of baby goodies to Britney after she gave birth to son Sean Preston, while Britney bought Christina a wedding gift of Champagne glasses and a crystal Vase. Elle UK/April 2006 - Christina sets the record straight about the recent "Britney vs. Christina" reports: "It's really sad to see that some tabloid magazines still have to manufacture ill will between Britney and me. We are both grown ups and have the utmost respect for each other personally and professionally. If certain journalists want to throw their integrity out the window by spreading false information, then so be it. But I'm not falling for their lies and neither should my fans or Britney's, alike. I wish nothing but the best for Britney, her husband, and their family. May they be blessed with continued success and future happiness." - xtinaxposed.com, Christina's OFFICIAL fanclub site. (July 2005) ********************************* Melissa Etheridge: "Melissa Etheridge admitted her fondness for Britney Spears. When asked "Christina or Britney?" she responded, "Truth? I love Christina's voice, but I kind of dig Britney's whole thing. Yep, I really think Christina has great chops. She kind of overdoes it, but that's what everyone's into right now. But she's got a huge voice, and I like listening to it. Yet if a video of hers came on, I'm not that interested in watching it, whereas I will stop in the room and watch a Britney video." (quotation from Rolling Stone) (March 2005) ********************************* Pink: "J. Cale of South Africa's Top Forty magazine spoke with Pink about the lyrics in her new cut 'Don't Let Me Get Me', which she talks about being tired of Britney Spears comparisons. Pink said, "I've met Britney. She's really, really sweet. She's probably the sweetest girl I've ever met in my life." (March 2005) ********************************* Debbie Gibson: "As one of the top teen performers of the '80s, Debbie Gibson influenced a generation with perky, poppy songs such as "Only in My Dreams," "Foolish Beat" and "Electric Youth" before dropping out of the music business to focus her energies on the Broadway stage. While Gibson said she's awed by the sexual energy Britney exudes, she doesn't target Spears as an especially bad influence on today's electric youth. "I think she knows to a degree that she's playing a role," Gibson said. "It seems as though she can distinguish between what she does onstage and what she does in her life. She puts on her face and her clothes and her hair extensions, turns up the energy and goes for it, which I enjoy. I don't get the feeling she takes that side of herself too seriously. She always has a little tongue-in-cheek glint in her eye when she performs." (March 2005) ********************************* Madonna : - "Can I just say that I find it really irritating that everyone beats up on Britney Spears? I want to do nothing but support her and praise her and wish her the best. I mean, she's 18 years old! It's just shocking. I was so gawky and geeky and awkward and unsure of myself." - "I feel really protective of her. Don't even ask me why. there's something about her. Even though she's terribly successful, for some reason I think of her as an underdog." - "It's like when you go to a party and there's a girl, and everyone's avoiding her because she's really pretty, or whatever. I always want to go over and talk to that person. [britney] is a victim of snobbery. People are going, 'oh she's this', and 'oh she's got fake t*ts' and blah blah blah, and you know as soon as I see somebody getting picked on, I just want to go and, you know, talk to them at the party. Maybe to a certain extent I can relate to it, because I feel that I was certainly a victim of snobbery when I first started. I can't even count the number of things that I read about myself that kept dismissing me and the fact that I had talent or that I could sing or any of those things. And now I just see everybody doing it to Britney, so I feel defensive of her and protective of her. It's so easy to get up and criticize people, isn't it?" - "My feelings didn't change since the first time I met her. She's a young woman who's slowly coming to age and you can expect a lot from her. She's just starting. Wait 10 years and you'll see." - Dress like Britney Spears and think like me and everything will be alright. ********************************* Joss Stone: - "I feel bad for Britney," Stone says with concern in her voice. "I really like her and people are so mean to her. It's, like, whatever she says or does, people are there to criticize her. I don't really understand it and I would never want to be in her position. She's just growing up; it shouldn't be as shocking as people make it out to be." - "I've never met Britney, but I think she's very beautiful and a brilliant performer. She can dance her ass off. I feel bad for her. and I don't like people dissing her. She never said she wanted to be Whitney Houston, she's not trying to be Aretha Franklin. she's just trying to be Britney. She's great in what she does." (2004) ********************************* Beyonce: "Of all female, solo pop artists, Britney is the nicest one. Every time I see her, she is always very, very nice... very polite. Her mother is very nice. It doesn't matter how tired she is; she's always the same way, wich says a lot because she doesn't have to be." (2004) ********************************* Rachel Stevens (S club 7): "I get spots and lank hair just like anyone else. I still stand next to people like Britney Spears and think she's georgeous." (Rachel, voted FHM's sexiest woman in Britain) (2003) ********************************* Mary J Blige: "I don't want to say nothing bad about her. I met her. She's really sweet." (2004) ********************************* Kelly Osbourne: "I think she's ****ing beautiful and has the most amazing bodyand is damn good at what she does and who the **** else could dance like that? She has to deal with so much $h!t because she's in the public eye. People love to hate her, well I don't." ********************************* Samantha Mumba: "I thought that she is so pompous, because she is Britney Spears herself. But I met her, and she was really sweet and nice. She is so big, but down to the earth!" ********************************* Kelly Rowland: "She's a super talented performer. Everytime you see her you're just wondering what she'll do next. She's a real star and she deserves everything she has right now..." ********************************* Fergie (Black Eyed Peas): "I think she's so cool. She's a great artist and I loved the kiss with Madonna. Britney proved she's not that innocent *laughing* And she proved that she's way better than Christina. I mean, Christina got no chance. Britney will always be better, 'though Christina got a great voice. No disrespecting, but I think Britney is the bigger Icon. But I still like Christina." ********************************* JoJo: "I like her. She's 22 and she lives her life the way she wants to. There's a lot of bad press about her, but I met her and I can tell she's cute as can be. That's my sight of the story."' ********************************** Charlotte Church: Teen soprano Charlotte Church has urged the world's media to leave Britney Spears alone, so she can enjoy her new marriage and pregnancy in peace. Spears has been criticised for rushing into marriage with Kevin Federline after only dating for five months, and getting pregnant so soon after, despite her husband already parenting two children - Kori and Kaleb, in the past few years. Church says, "Good luck to her. She's had a hard enough time, just leave her be. "If she wants to be a mum and retire then, f**king hell, I mean, she entertained us for so long, she was lush, leave her be. "Everything I see of her in the press, I think, 'That's just someone being normal.'" Tuesday, May 31, 2005 ********************************* Avril Lavigne: "I'm tired of people sayin' that I'm Anti-Britney. I can't say that I love her music and what she represents but I heard she's really cool. I know how hard she works and respect her for that. I think she must be very strong to carry on everything she has to do: the promotions, concerts, the fact that she hasn't a private life ..." ********************************* JEM: Welsh singer JEM is relieved she's achieved music stardom later in life, because she sympathises with BRITNEY SPEARS and CHARLOTTE CHURCH for growing up in the spotlight. The THEY star, 30, believes achieving fame at a more mature age means she was able to bypass the intense media scrutiny placed teen singing sensations. Jem, real name JEMMA GRIFFITHS, says, "I scoured the music channel VH1 trying to find someone who was older than me when they started out. "I've always acted like a 20-year-old and I'm lucky in that I don't look my age. I think music keeps you young. "You know, I'm glad I didn't get into this when I was a teenager, and I worry about girls who do. "The tabloids are watching you as you hit puberty, and you're already washed up by the time you're 24. I did what I was supposed to be doing when I was 18 - partying and having a laugh." ********************************* Skye Sweetnam: 'Britney was a real Southern gal when I met her. Her music is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I was once a dancer and her music is awesome if you wanna shake your rump. I am so grateful to her for allowing me the pleasure of opening her concert. To tell you the truth I was so glad I was opening and I wasn't in her shoes. Britney has so much pressure on her, so many eyes, so many fans too! I would feel so smothered if I had to live like she does. I think it's a talent alone to be able to put up with all she does and dance on stage every night looking amazing. Good for her standing tall throught her career.' ********************************* Nelly Furtado: "My favorite Britney-Song, we all got one, don't we, is "Toxic"". ********************************* Jessica Simpson: Jessica Simpson has advised Britney Spears and Kevin Federline to quit their reality show Britney & Kevin: Chaotic before it ruins their lives. Simpson, who has been left disillusioned with the reailty show experience because of the time Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica took from her, has warned the pair to quit while they are ahead after one season. UK-Flava.com quotes Simpson as saying: "Only do one season and make sure your contract is good. We were locked in. We thought it was going to be a six-episode documentary about being a newlywed. It ended up being two years." Monday, August 1, 2005 JESSICA SIMPSON admires her pop rivals BRITNEY SPEARS and CHRISTINA AGUILERA for very different reasons, despite labelling Aguilera as a "nasty girl". The NEWLYWEDS: NICK AND JESSICA reality TV star beat competition from Spears to win the role of DAISY DUKE in the forthcoming THE DUKES OF HAZZARD movie. Simpson says, "She has a really cute butt and she would have been cute in the role. But I'm glad I got it." "Vocally (I prefer), Christina; as a person, Britney. Christina has that edge. She's the nasty girl, but she is extremely talented." Tuesday, July 5, 2005 Ashanti: - "She's fine. She got some great songs and I actually like her voice. Hot little Lady...!" - I was just watching "Tinseltown", a persian celeb show, on a persian channel called PMC and they were talking to Ashanti about new plans, regarding her next long player. This is what she said (as far as I'm quoting her 1:1) Interviewer: Are there any artists that influence your new material? Ashanti: Of course, yeah. There are several people I really loved to work with but yeah who knows. Right now I just wrote some songs about love and for some reason I really got influenced by Britney Spears. [Then I can't remember what she said after that, sry] I just listen to this "Outrageous" over and over again. It's neat. And here's something she said in "Vanity Fair" magazine a couple of months ago (source: Britneyland.de, Germany's biggest Britsite) - "This business is full of cool and talented people that I met since "Ashanti" came out. There are always people you wanna collaborate with. First I'd really love to do something with Cadillac Tah again. He's a genius and his work is really full of passion. Another person that's on my A-list is Diana Ross - I look up to her since I was a little girl and it would be sick to work with her. She's amazingly talented. Not to forget Britney Spears. She's hot too. Lady got style." ********************************* Hilary Duff: "I love her. She was always the biggest inspiration to me. My favorite song would be Toxic. I really love that one. It's so hooky... I don't care about the things the press says about her. I think she's an amazing woman and a great role model for younger kids." ********************************* Kylie Minogue: "Whatever she does - the people will always look up to her." ********************************* Catherine Zeta-Jones: "No, Britney sang all my songs for me in the movie and didn't she do a great job?" (When Catherina is quizzed about that much-touted (false) rumour that she did not do her own singing in "Chicago", the actress tells the Chicago Sun-Times she's come up with a stock answer) ********************************* Liza Minelli: "Britney met her, and it seemed that she just love her. They hugged each other." ********************************* Nicole Kidman: "I adore her and so do my kids. We just can't get enough of her and I really think she's a great actress." ********************************* Carmen Electra: "My favorite Britney-Song is "Toxic". I would kiss Britney." ********************************* Kim Cattrall: "I'm not jealous of any part of her body. I think she's beautiful and she works hard. She's very astute. I'm in awe of how together she seems to be. In my early 20s, I certainly wasn't at the helm of an industry." ********************************* Halle Berry: "Everytime I say that I like Britney, people look at me like I have 500 heads. But I am Britney's biggest fan. I hate it that people say that she's too sexy. That's what woman are." ********************************* The Desperate Housewives Stars: Desperate Housewives Stars Support Britney Spears' Attack on Tabloids 4/1/05 Marcia Cross: "I've Learned Personally That They Can Write Anything They Want" SHOW AIRS ON FRIDAY, APRIL 1, 2005 BURBANK, Calif. (April 1, 2005) -- In an interview with "Access Hollywood," "Desperate Housewives" stars Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria say they support pop star Britney Spears latest attack on the tabloid media. The interview airs on "Access Hollywood," Friday, April 1, 2005 (check local listings for time and station). Cross, who endured media speculation that she was a lesbian earlier this year, says she knows only too well how Spears feels. "I've learned personally that they can write anything they want," she says. "It's hard, and the fact that she would say that doesn't surprise me...it's a hard thing to continually, in your private life, have to deal with. I don't know how you protect yourself, I really haven't got any ideas." Longoria says she feels that a group effort against the tabloid media could prove to be successful. "I think we should totally unite and just ban those tabloid magazines." "Access Hollywood" is produced by NBC and distributed by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. Rob K. Silverstein is the executive producer. ********************************* Lindsay Lohan: "How can you not like Britney Spears?" ********************************* Melissa Joan Hart of 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch': - She's a down to earth, fun girl. - I'm addicted to chocolate and Britney Spears. ********************************** Mariah Carey: When explained the situation of Britney's first wedding she said 'It's not really my kind of thing, but I respect Britney, she's very talented and seems like a lovely girl.' The X-Files star says, "Britney moved in a couple of months ago, and since then it's been crazy." "The other day I was walking to a restaurant and there were photographers in front, and they took a picture of me. "I asked, 'What's going on?' and they said, 'We're waiting for Britney.' How was it working with her? BT: It was great, man... People have a perception of things that's dictated by the media, and there's an incredible--and an understandable--stigma with people like Britney, JC and Justin. But I can say without any reluctance whatsoever that the three of them are technically better singers than anyone I've ever worked with. Q: That's quite a compliment. BT: It was a great lesson in separating what you're told from the reality of a situation. From an article in The Observer (top UK broadsheet newspaper) "BT, a gregarious surfer dude with a self-described 'Nick Rhodes circa 1982' haircut, is seated at the sound-board with his sandals off and his chubby pug dog, Presley, sprawled on his lap. He instructs the engineer to play back different versions of the song's first verse as Britney sits quietly behind him, listening. 'Though you're near/Still, I want to make it clear/Love, I will always be around,' go the lyrics to the section under scrutiny. Britney's sultry vocals sound near perfect in every version played, and her voice is stronger and more confident than you might expect. 'It's so hard to do vocal comps with Britney,' BT says with a laugh. 'Every take is so good. It's easier to do this with a bad singer.' Cocking her head to one side, Britney appreciatively coos, 'Aw, thanks, BT.'" (March 2005) ********************************* K.D. Lang: "K.D. Lang shared her feelings on Mariah Carey and Britney Spears to The New York Post's Liz Smith saying, "You know they are both really good singers. But they are caught in the push to be overly sexy and to sell themselves as objects when it's enough that they are great singers. I feel for them. They're in the grip of the celebrity sex madness that is going on. I'm not a prude, but where do they go from here?"" Scott from the group said, "We've got a song slated for Britney Spears' new record, and maybe more." Lauren Christy then added, "She's very professional, totally unaffected by her fame, really a great girl, down to earth...Good voice. She's underrated, I think, as a singer. And the song we've done with her is super-cool!"" (2004) ********************************* Eric Winter, the guy from the Curious ad: "I'd actually had the chance to meet her in the past because Matt Cedeno's ex-girlfriend was a dancer for her. She was very sweet then. She's just a really great person to work with. She's fun. Unfortunately, we didn't get to work as much together as I would have thought because the whole commercial is based on this "what if" premise. We were only in maybe two scenes together during the whole two-day shoot. But she was on set with me the entire time and vice versa. It was a pleasure to work with her. The whole atmosphere was great; the ad agency was fantastic. It was one of the best jobs I've ever done. It was really fun." And video director Dave Meyers: The 31-year-old director, who also helmed Spears' 2000 "Stronger" video, attributes the understanding of that delicate balance to what he calls the singer's underappreciated, "incredible" sense of humor. Though Spears didn't co-direct her clip (like fellow nominees Usher and Eminem did), Kahn marveled at how the singer came to him with a fully formed idea for the video, down to the smallest detail. Case in point: Near the beginning of the video, Britney knew she wanted to drip some water in a passenger's lap, provocatively dab it up and then turn around and kiss a child on the head. "That's part of her brilliance," Kahn said. "She has this weird awareness of her appeal. She totally understands that she's naughty and nice, that she's the girl next door gone bad who is constantly titillating you. Ultimately at the end of the day, we were helping to build a business around an entertainer at a time when that was not the convention, but certainly it is today. When and how did you meet her? Executives working on Britney's upcoming film say the singer really wants her first film role to be taken seriously. "Crossroads" is being described as an ensemble movie, not a star vehicle. "She's a very serious young woman, and she had no feeling like 'Put me in 'Tomb Raider'," the movie's producer, Ann Carli told EW.com. Britney's dedication to the movie can also be seen by her help in developing the script and, although she will sing on screen, there are no plans to release a soundtrack album and cash in on her pop princess status. "Britney and her managers really wanted her to [have] a shot for a credible acting career," said Carli. Carli isn't the only person involved in the film who's taking Britney's acting gig seriously. Earlier this year, Dan Aykroyd, who plays Britney's father in the movie, praised her acting skills during interviews. "She is a good actress," he said. "I mean, she's got the essence of greatness there." (March 2005) Edited June 19, 200718 yr by Music Maniac

April 20, 200619 yr I found it  Stunning Keisha Buchanan was first to put the boot in, telling all about when the Babes met Britters. The 21-year-old told us: "Britney was a disappointment. She was doing this fake smile but at the same time saying, 'It's so nice to meet you'."Brit, who's denied she's pregnant again, also won't want to hear what Keisha's got to say about hubby Kevin Federline's wandering eyes."Well, Kevin gave me a 'look', and Britney just grabbed his arm and pulled him in close to her," she revealed. "He is probably all over loads of girls and if we can see it why can't she? You know when someone is trying hard to be something they're not. I don't think she's naturally very happy." New girl Amelle Berrabah, 21, said: "With Christina Aguilera, you can tell she's being herself. "But Britney was trying to be cool. And look who's the winner now. Not Brit." Scouse babe Heidi Range, 22, added fuel to the fire by saying: "Why does she dress like that? She's really let herself go since she met Kevin. "Maybe she was made to go to the gym loads when she was performing, so she's fed up with it now."
April 21, 200619 yr I read somewhere that Gary Lucy (UK actor) said his ideal woman is Britney Spears...
