Posted April 8, 200718 yr A sort of folk rock band of the early 70's, had 1 number one album (Fog on the Tyne), and 2 other top 10 albums in 1971/1972 Nicely out of tune and Dingly Dell. Songs like Meet me on the corner and Lady Eleanor(loosely based on the Fall of the house of Usher by Edgar Alan Poe) made the top 5. They split in 1973 but reformed in 1978 and had a further top 10 hit with Run for home. Loved the line from the album title song Fog on the Tyne "we can have a wee wee we can have a wet on the wall" Anyone else remember them, one of Newcastle's finest. There only mistake was to re-record Fog on the Tyne with Gazza. :puke2:
April 9, 200718 yr Ah, but they all look like they're having so much fun in the Gazza video. Grey haired blokes with beards and a fresh-faced t*** in a disgusting shellsuit.
April 9, 200718 yr "Lady Eleanor" is great. The only one I remember being in the charts though was "Run For Home". Not as good. Let's try and forget the Gazza collaboration, eh?! Edited April 9, 200718 yr by Neil B
