Okay, I was a bit busy y'day and couldnt do the weekly album appreciation thread, but here it is for you now! If youre a lover of Bleed Like Me, Garbage's 4th studio album, tell us why here! Which is youre fave track and what shouldve been a single?

My favourite track is the single Why Do You Love Me, absolute brilliance, and the stunning album track Metal Heart :wub:

Following that you cant fail to love Bad Boyfriend and Bleed Like Me, and also Boys Wanna Fight.

I have all their albums and love them. Bleed Like Me is a tad heavier than the rest of their stuff, and kinda sticks to the same formula throughout but it's a good, solid and consitant album.

 

Favourites: Right Between The Eyes, It's All Over But The Crying, Sex Is Not The Enemy, Run Baby Run, Bad Boyfriend.

Oh, "Bleed Like Me"...

Fantastic album even it's underrated (it's compared too much with their self title debut album).

 

My fave songs are the title track "Bleed Like Me" followed by "Run Baby Run", "Metal Heart", "Why Do You Love Me", "sex is Not the Enemy" and "Right Between the Eyes". I like all of them but these are highlights.

 

Too bad: "Right Between the Eyes" had so much potential to be a great single...

And can I say 'Why Do You Love Me?' is mindblowing. I first saw them perform it on CD:UK before its release and I thought 'wow I love that bitchin song :o' I spent hours trying to download it from Limewire to no success. :( Anyway I really think 'Run Baby Run' or 'Right Between The Eyes' should've been singles here. SINTE is good - the whole album is great but as a 2nd single - nah I don't think so. :( I really love 'It's All Over But The Crying' too. <333333

Yer, I kinda agree about Sex... not being single material. It shouldve been Bleed Like Me or Boys Wanna Fight. Metal Heart is still one of my fave ever songs...pure brilliance!

I love the meaning behind 'Metal Heart' but I don't think the song's the best on the album. I still perfer their debut album tbh above 'Bleed Like Me'.

At school, she was regularly bullied because of her red hair and large eyes. She sometimes returned home after school bloody and bruised from the bullying. The incessant teasing and bullying led her into a deep depression and drove her to cutting

Depending on you tastes!

"Garbage" is the best ballanced, "Version 2.0" is the catchiest, "beautifulgarbage" is the poppiest and "Bleed Like Me" is the noisest (more rockier even than their self title album!)

 

Usual choices: Self Title or Version 2.0

Yeh I did sort of get that was what the song was about but I never knew that. :( I wouldn't wish such things on anybody but trauma does morph into great songs. She is amazing I think. <3

Garbage will be in London in a couple days time shooting the video for their new single, the single that is to be on the 'best of' compilation. I didn't ask the title or anything but will have more info for you as/when i get it. Apparently the band have been spending a good deal of time together recently and things are going really well. There is a good vibe in the G camp. I wouldn't be too surprised to see a new album or mini tour in the not too distant future.
