Posted April 9, 200718 yr Thought of this as an idea based on the success of the present day soundclash, you have until Thursday lunch time to vote and then the next will start. If you want to see a particular song in the Retro Soundclash then either post the idea here or PM me with it So this week is I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing - Aerosmith vs Like A Prayer - Madonna
April 9, 200718 yr I;m gonna go for Madonna actually (which is gonna shock a lot of people), simply because this is when she started to get really serious and "Like A Prayer" is the beginning of her most fertile artistic period IMO... The video stirred a LOT of sh!t at the time as well and was an incredibly brave thing to do, even a die-hard Metaller such as myself started to prick up his ears and take notice, in her own way she was being almost as subversive as Slayer or other sh"t-stirring bands that were around at the time... And there's actually a point to what she's doing here as well... The Aerosmith tune, while decent enough, is just a rather average rock ballad in comparison....
April 9, 200718 yr i went for aerosmith, but tbh there isnt much in it, neither track resides in my collection.
April 9, 200718 yr I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing - Aerosmith vs Like A Prayer - Madonna I've voted for the one that made me laugh the most over the last week: http://www.worstpreviews.com/images/bladesofglory.gif http://msnbcmedia3.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/Photos/070328/070328_bladesglory_hmed_1p.hmedium.jpg and it was fricking funny
April 9, 200718 yr Aerosmith, Although sometimes I do find I Dont Wanna Miss A Thing incredibly bland and boring rock, they've done betters such Dream On
April 9, 200718 yr Like a Prayer was a strong, strong pop song and had an iconic video. It remains one of Madonna's best ever songs. 'I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing' is neither retro (by this forum's rules) nor is it any good. In fact, it's one of the worst songs ever committed to record.

April 9, 200718 yr Aerosmith... I really don't like Like A Prayer by Madonna - I MUCH prefer the cover version by Mad'House in 2002. Infact I really like that version, but find Madonna's quite poor.
April 9, 200718 yr Live A Prayer is a far better track. I Don't Wann miss a thing is very cheesy and certainly not one of Aerosmiths best. -_-
