i saw this yesterday at a preview screening- too much swearing and too depressing, didn't like it much.

 

what is everyone thinking? anyone seen this?

My best friend got two free tickets to see a preview screening, so I went with her yesterday to see it.

 

I found the plot a bit ropey and hard to follow for most of it, but in the end it all made sense.

 

And Justin Timberlake's acting is beyond apalling. Worst actor I have EVER seen. EVER.

:lol: yeah JT should stick to the singing, although i thought he conveyed the bit at end (when he had to tie the boy up) well.

 

yeah same i went for free with my friend too. i agree it all made sense at the end but i still found it very depressing and WAY too much swearing- i lost count of how many times they said the f-word in the first 10 mins -_-

i wanna see this film!! whats the certificate for it?

It does'nt look the best from the trailer, I never knew Bruce Willis and Sharon Stron were it is though :o

Hmmm, such harsh criticism.... It kinda looks okay from the trailers I've seen... And all the posters go on about how Justin Timberlake is a "revelation" and "a seriously talented actor"... All those folks coming up with those reviews are on drugs then I take it..... :lol:

A revelation? That is quite possibly the most ridiculous piece of garbage I have ever heard. As for 'talented', it seems anyone is allowed to use that word these days. :(

 

Just my opinion of course though. ^_^

:rofl: completely agree, if swaggering around acting stoned and saying "what the f*** you talkin' 'bout motherf*****" every couple of minutes is a "revalation" then i don't know what they think constitutes bad acting.

Ahh, right so this is Timberlake trying to be some sort of Ice Cube meets Robert De Niro type then.... Like that'll work.... :lol: :lol: :lol:

 

 

I quite liked the movie :lol: I was suprised by it. I know its a true story but I didnt like the ending. It ruined the film for me a bit. I thought Justins acting was good. Not brilliant but not bad either.

and in comparison to Bruce Willis in Perfect Stranger??? as good or worse??

 

btw which star would you say is better Justin Timberlake or Bruce Willis when you take into consideration both music and acting talents???

I know it got kinda bad reviews but I thought it was amazing, It has to be one of the FUNNIEST yet SADDEST movies I've ever seen. Well not ever, but at least of this year. Justin Timberlake isn't ALL that bad either which came as a shock :o

 

One scene is so SAD that people were crying in the audience including my friend, well she crys at anything but yeah :(

 

Alsooo it has the person from Just Friends and Karen from Mean Girls in it who are fab <33333

I was more than pleasantly surprised.

 

Timberlake plays the part well - yes, there's swearing - but real life is peppered with expletives - so what? Go see a Pixar movie if you want a sanitised version of life.

 

It's based on a true story, a well-documented case, and the movie apparently sticks pretty tightly to what actually happened. It's a great twisting story. Everyone seemed shocked at the final scenes.

 

A dfinite hit - 7 and a half outta 10.

did anyone else see Black Snake Moan???? the other Timberlake film out at themoment?

I don't really like Justin's acting skills, and everyone has told me this sucked ASS. :(

I downloaded "Alpha Dog", and to be honest, it wasn't nearly as bad as people are making out, and, fukk me, Timberlake actually turns out to be pretty okay as an actor.... :o :o I much prefer to see him act than to have to hear him sing to be brutally honest..... Possible career switch here, I hope he concentrates more on the acting in the future...
