Posted April 12, 200718 yr Got the Swedish pop legend's new album last week...anyone else got it? The first half is far better than the second
April 12, 200718 yr I heard great things about her but one listen to Kinuchiwa Bitches totally dissuaded me from getting the album :puke2:
April 12, 200718 yr Author I heard great things about her but one listen to Kinuchiwa Bitches totally dissuaded me from getting the album :puke2: Still get it, Konichiwa Bitches is just one of many styles on that album...at least download these two tracks: Be Mine, With Every Heartbeat They are great
April 12, 200718 yr Okay, ill give it a try, since I do like Keep This Fire Burning (though its not as good as Beverley's version), as long as you vote yes for a Joss forum ;) Edited April 12, 200718 yr by Zoomalude
April 12, 200718 yr her best song is Keep This Fire Burning. Totally hot, and much better than Beverley's cover
April 12, 200718 yr NO! :o Bevs is much better, not that the 2 are that different...but Beverleys vocals are a million times stronger
April 13, 200718 yr I dont like the way Beverley sings it. Robyn sounds a lot more feisty and powerful than she does. Plus, its the original, the one I have memories about anyway
April 13, 200718 yr Author her best song is Keep This Fire Burning. Totally hot, and much better than Beverley's cover I agree, although Beverley barely changed it at all
April 17, 200718 yr Bought this album a few weeks ago, it's brilliant! Konichiwa Bitches isn't really representative of the whole album though. My personal faves are Be Mine, Handle Me, and Bum Like You. If you like your electro pop you should definitely check out this album.
July 17, 200718 yr Got this recently  Be Mine, Handle Me, Bum Like You!, Crash And Burn Girl are all excellent. But the standout by far is 'With Every Heartbeat'
July 17, 200718 yr Author It's a shame the ballad version of Be Mine is nowhere on this album...its well worth hearing
July 18, 200718 yr I followed Robyn from the beginning, I love her  Not got new album cos I got it on import years ago. Gutted now cos With Every Heartbeat is amazing but not on my version, you can't download it either on iTunes  Have to say though, it's not her strongest album, Robyn Is Here and Don't Stop The Music are much stronger. My faves are Be Mine (gotta be next single now she's gettin popular), You got that somethin' and O Baby. And re: bev knight - Robyn's version is better, bev sings it too softly for me, it's supposed to be attitude <_< it makes me laugh how Bev fans and the media make her out to be this big raw talent, I just find everything about her is overrated (except recent chart placings  ) since the 'Gold' era.
July 18, 200718 yr My favourites are Handle Me and Who's That Girl, both were singles in Sweden, let's hope they're UK singles too (as well as Be Mine)
July 18, 200718 yr My favourites are Handle Me and Who's That Girl, both were singles in Sweden, let's hope they're UK singles too (as well as Be Mine) Agreed on 'Handle Me' and 'Who's That Girl'. 'Konichiwa Bitches' was a huge mistake, they must have been on acid when they decided to release that.
July 19, 200718 yr 'Handle Me' I am so pleased things are picking up for her over ere now - I have known of this album since the end of last year ala Jake. I think on the whole it is a gfreat record and deserves to do well here. <3
July 19, 200718 yr Somebody ('im up there ^^^) sent me 'Handle Me' aggggggggges ago, which I do like, but everything else I've heard is so bland and bad, she can't sing :(
