Not Good At All Saldy... :cry:

Seems rushed, Filler tracks, Unoriginal. Goodbye To Yesterday is fantastic though.

I got this today, yep agree its overall quite bland.

'Maybe' is quite good so is 'Goodbye To Yesterday' & 'A Reason' but theres nothing amazing on it.

My probably not so nice review of the album...

 

A REASON

Probably one of the more outstanding tracks on the album, but it doesn't help that No Angels just shoved it in their, I thin had they advertised this as the second single, They could push alot more people to be interested in the album. This song in particular needs alot of re-adjusting, A reworking of the vocals, making them more powerful and interesting could make it their best single to date 7.5/10

 

AMAZE ME

I heard this song before it was leaked, along with Maybe, I always preferred Maybe to this song, This song did NOT do what the track title says "Amaze Me" it's too harmonious.. and there is a lack of effort in this song on all the girls part, It just stands out as Album Filler, or B-Side material. 2/10

 

BACK OFF

My first opinion of this song, Is that No Angels are trying really hard to come into the mainstream setting, to where Music is is now. This hopefully will not be released as a single, I think the instruments in the Bridge and the Course are too weak, and once again, Their voices are too soft to make the song OUTSTANDING. I think with this album, They've gone for a more GROUP sound, rather than individuals working together to sing a song. 3.5/10

 

BEEN HERE BEFORE

dun-dun-dun-dun-dun.. I heard that little blip before the song began, Are they promoting McDonalds in Germany? To me this is like the track above, An attempt to get into the more mainstream, They're trying to BREAK into Music, rather than MAKE Ground Breaking Music - they did an amazing job at this before. This song is nothing special at all. It's reminiscent of a Hilary Duff album track. 1/10

 

GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY

If every track on this album had been HALF as good as this song - We probably would have had a DECENT album. It's not their best single to date, And I'd even say it's a little weak in spots, I love the video however, and this song has/will be on my Personal Chart for a while, and it's in High Rotation on iTunes for me. 9/10

 

I BELIEVE IN YOU

It's a little bit more of the Old-School-No-Angels, compared to what the other tracks are, A little slower, and has feeling to it, thats what the previous tracks are missing. I'd still say their vocals are not amazing, They could bring alot more, They can bring alot more, and they have brought alot more. 4/10

 

I DON'T WANNA TALK ABOUT IT

...kind of what I have to say about this album. There is only a few tracks we're I've listened to it the whole way threw. This song had potential, but again, It's the vocals that are letting it down. It's a great song, Good arrange, but their is spark missing. 3/10

 

I HAD A FEELING

Their RNB Song of the album, I'd say, it's got a bit more of a hip-hop beat to it. I'd imagine that this is one of their more earlier recorded tracks, because their vocals are a bit better on this track than the others. However this song is nothing special. 3/10

 

MAKE A CHANGE

I remember the days of WHEN THE ANGELS SWING - They had rasp, They had something in their voice that made it SMOKY, This track - let alone this ALBUM does not have that feeling at all. They were on the TOP of their days back than, this album is a little bit of a disappointment for them. This track - Boring, They didn't try hard enough to re-do the magic they did with When The Angels Swing. 0/10

 

MAYBE

The other more advertised track when they were promoting themselves. The beginning of this song - Very dry, Boring, Missing strength (a common theme in this album) The Bridge picks it up - but it is too long and loses it. The corus, Is fantastic, but a song can not just rely of the course threwout the whole album, So this song falls apart - Probably worse than any other track on this album. 2/10

 

MISGUIDED HEART

My friend on Last.Fm absolutely LOVES this track - has listened to it over 30 times already. It is a slower song, but much like I Had A Feeling, It has good vocals to start off on, One in only three album tracks thus far that I would say has passable vocals at all. I'd probably say that this is the best album track. But it is not mainstream, so I doubt seeing a release. 6.5/10

 

THE RHYTHM OF MY HEART

A little more soul. Less instruments. Good vocals, but ever album has this type of track. 4/10

 

 

WHAT IF

FINALLY The last track on this album.. The instruments on this track are remarkable, Reminiscent of an Ocean or something like that. This song is more along the lines of their older tracks, and the vocals are probably the best yet. It's not their best track to date, But one of the best on the album.. thats for sure. It does lose its strength towards the ending however, knocking off a few points for me. 6/10

 

OVERALL

A disappointment - but chances are, Devoted fans will find this album amazing, and lackluster fans will find a track they like. It's a disappointment in the vocal range, and the production you can tell was rushed, but was not the reason for the failure of this album.

I only heard Feelgood Lies for the first time the other day and must say it's amazing, a brilliant pop song and (if I must compare them to something people on here will actually know) very like Girls Aloud (though I know it was done before they were even about ;))

I only bought one single of the No Angels: "Feel Good Lies". That was a really great song! I liked most of their singles, it was nice to hear them on the radio. That single with Mousse T was also a good club track, but sadly not their biggest hit.

 

I don't like "Goodbye To Yesterday" very much. So if this song has to be the best track on the album, the other songs have to be very weak.

Oddly enough... Feelgood Lies has been covered.. I've heard it on the radio a few times.. by whom? I have no idea..

So not too bad.

 

It did good, Not suprizingly though, They're pretty big, Hopefully they will stick together and shell out a few more albums, and not turn out like All Saints and get dropped :(

#4 in germany is a BIG failure for them.. their last albums always sold 500k-1m in germany.. this one won't reach 2x platinum i guess..(would be 400.000).
