Pop group Scooch, the UK’s Eurovision Song Contest entrants this year, have signed a deal with Warner Brothers.

The label will release pop quartet’s airline-themed song Flying The Flag (For You) on May 7 on a number of formats yet to be confirmed.

Songwriter Andrew Hill, who co-wrote the winning track, had previously told Music Week that the band were in negotiations with a number of labels regarding the band’s future.

Commenting on Scooch signing to Warner Brothers, Hill says, “It’s fantastic. We’re all really, really exciting about it.â€

He also added that he hoped to continue to work with the band on any future material they write.

The release of Flying The Flag (For You) will precede the groups appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Helsinki on May 12

:o good god they are getting a record deal
I saw this yesterday. :o I'm very shocked, but good luck to them!
Flying The Flag will be big in the UK charts though I reckon.
They've chosen a great date to release it, after the performance on Eurovision I think download sales will make it soar into the higher reaches.

Off topic, but I see you're liking/loving Mambo Aly. :o :D

Oh god what is the music industry coming to?

Dire, thats what their latest song is.

Its attrocious, they should fail at eurovision, flop in the charts then be gone for good.

Ok its a bit of 'fun' but for moody teenagers like me lol i hate it, i bet Cyndi hasnt been signed

 Quite! I played it about 40 -50 times last night alone.

 Ive noticed that, Helena Paparizou deserves to do well over here :cheer:

But 'Mambo' flopped

Also Hanna Pakarinen should do well here, but hardly any of the decent eurovision acts do well here.

Eurovision is a known career killer, their success won't last beyond this one single. But they'd have never got a hit again without this kind of publicity anyway, so good luck to them, milk this single for all it's worth. :P
oh no future material :puke2: how they can get signed and Jessica Garlick not is beyond me....... -_-
Warners clearly have more money than sense....

yeah but thinking about it i think id rather have non-stop scooch videos overnight on the freeview music channels than wall to wall quiz calls channels
