Posted April 15, 200718 yr Where do you think 'Walk This Way,' would've charted if it had not been for charity? I think it might have only charted at about #6 due to the fact it wasn't a very strong cover even though it had the 2 biggest girl groups in Britain on it, I'm also basing this on how quickly it's falling now.
April 15, 200718 yr Im really lovin this at the minute even more than the time the video just came out ^_^ but it deffo wouldnt have been no.1 if it weren't for charity
April 15, 200718 yr I think it would have got top 10, but probably not top 5. Looking back it really wasn't that great, I'm not sure if Sugababes should have touched it if I'm honest.
April 15, 200718 yr Author I thought it was quite good at first but comparing it to the quality of some of the stuff Sugababes have made it's a bit poor, if they were going to cover it I think they should've done so on their own and tried to add a bit of a credible indie edge to it aswell because I think they could've managed to pull that off.
April 15, 200718 yr I think people should stop being so snobby about it, assuming that because Girls Aloud are less "cool" they're to blame for making it flop (relatively). Let's face it, it's not a strong or even good vocal performance from either band, and having a #1 last about 4 weeks in the Top 40 is a huge flop for both of them, but both of them realise it was a one-off thing and won't be spending too much time thinking about it. By the time the next single comes around for both of them, credibility will have been restored :D Oh and I LOVED it
April 15, 200718 yr Author I've heard clips of Sugababes performing it on their tour on their own and vocally it did sound a lot stronger imo. They should've have made the b-sides a Sugababes solo version of it and a Girls Aloud solo version of it so it was easier to compare.

It also sounds more like a Girls Aloud song imo, it's got cheap production Fair enough that it's for charity, but they should have made sure they do a decent cover, after all if it's decent it will sell more
April 15, 200718 yr On tour it sounded really good just by Suga's on their own ^_^ better even and im also a GA fan so yano

They obviously used Girls Aloud production budget and Sugababes video budget.

Even if it's not sold that much directly, if a singles done, it promotes the whole cause not just the song
April 15, 200718 yr Author On tour it sounded really good just by Suga's on their own ^_^ better even and im also a GA fan so yano I'm hoping that they will release a live version of it on their own eventually, obviously only as a b-side but just so people can hear how much better it sounded and so I can listen to a Sugababes solo version of it. Which reminds me that I was wondering if anyone knows if there's actually going to be DVD of this tour as it would be the most appropriate time with it being a greatest hits tour and it also being an arena tour.
April 15, 200718 yr I really want a live cd of that tour their songs sounded so much better especially Easy  Run For Cover sounded great aswell

April 15, 200718 yr Author I really want a live cd of that tour their songs sounded so much better especially Easy  Run For Cover sounded great aswell I saw them on their 'Taller In More Ways Tour,' last year and they were brilliant then so I have no doubts that they were equally as good this time. :D Hopefully there will be a live DVD and CD made of 'The Overloaded Tour.' :D

Did she pull it off alright? I hope there isn't too much backlash against them, they usually have backlash for being moody etc. but I think that's what some people like about them, it's what makes them different like All Saints had that reputation

I'm also very glad that Amelle is in the group due to the fact she seems to be the one who's brought the indie element with her and I think Sugababes will always have the moody reputation and that's how their fans like it. :D

The when she left it was more rnb. Now they've got Amelle they could easily bring back the demographic from the first line up :D

April 15, 200718 yr I saw them on tour last year and this year. This year they were better as a group. Personally I prefer Amelle's voice to Mutya's but it's all relative, we'll have to wait for the enxt album to really judge. I just hope it's their best... erm..
