Posted April 15, 200718 yr Ok people discuss here how we all honestly think Scooch will do. In my opinion there are a number of ways it could go: Top ten - ala LT United last year. Lithuania's song last year was a complete love/hate sort of song, and judging by polls so far this year Scooch is exactly the same - we're also doing $h!t in a majority of the polls, just as Lithuania did last year. So could we be going the same way? I guess we'll not know until the final. Also, we've all commented on the fact that we're sandwiched between two novelty songs. However that Romanian song is not instantly catchy, or a good song at all and to me doesn't seem like much of a memorable performance. Ukraine do have a catchy song, but they're going before us, which imo is better than directly after. So could the United Kingdom get its best finish since the sublime Jessica Garlick? :o Hmm... Bottom five - ala Daz Sampson last year. Oh how we held high hopes for Daz last year. :( It was something fresh(ish), new, different, catchy and incredibly good on stage. The vocals were good, what could go wrong? Europe hates rap, that's what went wrong. :manson: And what's to say Scooch won't go the same way this year? It ticks all the same boxes - very different to anything else sent this year, it IS catchy, and it does work on stage. This song is similar to Sampson's is many ways, only the vocals are weaker from Scooch. Although it's catchy, it is rather dated, and would've done far better had it been entered in the 1990s, and even then probably wouldn't have won. So will it be another "nul pwans" for the United Kingdom this year? In my honest opinion, I'm not 100% on how it's going to do, but if I were to hazard a guess, I'd say it'll get around 30 points. Unless half of Europe are pissed to the extreme, this won't get a great deal of votes. Our placing after Ukraine is incredibly bad luck, but at least it's quite near the end, when the drink will have flowed down many Europeans necks. B) This song is good when you're drunk!!! Discuss how you think it will do, and what realistic chances the United Kingdom have.
April 15, 200718 yr Imagine how badly we would have done if Scooch had gone in the first 5...almost certainly nil points... Ukraine's song is slowly getting better to my demented ears...Romania's song is getting worse Talk about begging for votes. We come on namechecking 6 European capital cities and then Romania come on singing in 6 different languages lol
April 15, 200718 yr Oh, and if Daz couldn't come above 19th then Scooch will come around the same place or slightly lower...I honestly don't think we will be last though
April 30, 200718 yr Daz could only get 19th position last year and Scooch is a thousand time worse. I hate to say it but it deserves NIL points.
April 30, 200718 yr It certainly does not deserve nil points...Armenia deserve nil points this year :-(
April 30, 200718 yr Author I probably would atm tbh. I'm well loving it cuz of its cheesiness. Even more than Natalia Barbu atm! :o
May 3, 200718 yr scooch wont get nil points as ireland will definiotly give the uk a score,i dont mind the song at all but i can seee it finishing about 15th and will make top 20 in the uk charts
May 3, 200718 yr I have to admit, I do love it. I've not heard anyone release this kind of cheesy pop for years and it reminds me of my school disco days. :P
May 3, 200718 yr Detest with a passion.... Scooch would suck dog dick no matter what country they were representing, but it IS especially embarrassing given the absolute wealth of music culture the UK has given the planet that this is what we choose to represent us in a competition.... Finland gets my vote this year, a good rocking tune which actually does represent the Finnish contemporary musical culture quite well when you take the likes of HIM, The Rasmus, Nightwish, 69 Eyes, Hanoi Rocks, etc into consideration....
May 3, 200718 yr Author I quite like Flying the flag  Dear god I'm turning into David :o  Next you'll be having dreams about me. [Like Tyron.]
May 3, 200718 yr Next you'll be having dreams about me. [Like Tyron.] It's not my fault  You terrify me with your Carola rip-offs :arrr:
May 3, 200718 yr To me the song is okay, but Daz last year was so much better, so I doubt that Scooch will be higher they half way.
