One of the least successful countries in the Eurovision has decided to hold its own mini ESC showcasing 12 of its songs from the past 40 years.

I got this from www.eurovision.tv

12 songs to compete for the title of “All Time Finnish Eurovision entryâ€Â

Muistathan Gala in Tampere Hall, 6 May

A total of 12 songs have been selected to take part in ‘Muistathan’, a Grand Gala to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest. The gala is organized by Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE) in Tampere Hall on Saturday 6 May and will be broadcast live on YLE TV2.

On the night TV viewers will televote to choose the most popular Finnish Eurovision song ever.

The 12 songs taking part in ‘Muistathan’ were selected in the following way: fans chose 8 of the songs by voting on the YLE Eurovision website. An additional three wild cards were picked by YLE. This year’s Finnish entry automatically cleared its way to ‘Muistathan’.

To help voters with their choices YLE TV2 will present all Finnish entries to viewers in a series of shows in March and April. The online voting for the 40th anniversary event started on YLE Eurovision website in January and will end on 16 April.

All songs will be performed in ‘Muistathan’ by original artists (if possible) accompanied by a live orchestra.

The 12 songs are (in the running order):

“Tipi-tii†by Marion Rung (1962)

â€ÂKatson sineen taivaan†by Katri Helena (1979)

â€ÂVarjoon – suojaan†by Fredi (1967)

“Valoa ikkunassa†by Annika Eklund (1961, original artist: Laila Kinnunen)

â€ÂLa dolce vita†by Anneli Saaristo (1989)

â€ÂFantasiaa†by Ami Aspelund (1983)

â€ÂSata salamaa†by Petri Laaksonen (1987, original artist: Vicky Rosti)

â€ÂTom tom tom†by Marion Rung (1973)

“Eläköön elämä†by Sonja Lumme (1985)

â€ÂAddicted to you†by drag artist Jukka Kuronen (2002, original artist: Laura Voutilainen)

“Bye bye baby†by CatCat (1994)

“Hard Rock Hallelujah†by Lordi (2006)

Some of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest stars, including the Turkish representative Sibel Tüzün and the Estonian singer Sandra will perform during the ‘Muistathan’ Gala.
