Hold on, I just saw this myspace bulletin...

Hey all -

To the amazing Portuguese fans who came out last night and unfortunately were disappointed because Brian had to cut short the set the band have issued the following apology.

Beixinhos para voceis -

APOLOGY TO PORTUGESE FANS

Placebo would like to apologise unreservedly to all the fans who attended the Creamfields festival in Lisbon last night (Friday 19th May). The set was cut short due to Brian losing his voice as an extreme reaction to the cold temperatures. He was literally unable to keep singing. The band left the stage for the encore but decided it was impossible to continue. "We sincerely apologise to all our fans at Creamfields. We understand that it must have seemed confusing as to what was going on and we are sorry we had to cut our set short. Nothing frustrates us more than having on stage problems. In this instance, the problems were simply Brian's voice. We hate to let our fans down but there was just nothing we could do. It's certainly not the way we'd hoped to kick off our European tour!"

xx

Ok, here they say that problem was Brian's voice... But, even if it was like that, I think they definitely should told to the audience last night what's happened. Not to keep all of us uniformed until now. I'm trying to understand Brian, and for the moment I can imagine why he was angry, but then again, there were audience which should know what was happening. They paid the show and were dreaming about perfect Placebo concert, so they deserved that. Maybe they wouldn't be that upset if there were told them what's the problem.

Ok, at first I didn't really believe there was a problems with Brian's voice, I thought it's only an excuse, but now I'm sure that was the problem.

Here are two videos which can prove that:

Every You Every Me

The Bitter End

 You can actually see how he's voice didn't have any power. All was different, he wasn't singing that beautiful as we used to. To me it even looks like he was reciting song, not singing it. :( And you also can see that he didn't have power to sing ending parts of the song. :o I mean, I never before saw The Bitter End and EYEM without Brian's end singing. I think I heart Stefan at the end ot The Bitter End over here. :(

What do you all think?

Thanks to funny Valentine from Placebonet who find those videos on YouTube.

think they definitely should told to the audience last night what's happened.
do agree, it would have been better all round to inform the audience what was going on and not leave them in the dark.

I second it, guys. He acted badly

And now I really believe he had troubles with his voice. We hope everything will be good at Moscow concerts

Yes, I hope for that also. Only problem is that concert is tomorrow and that's very little time. :(

But, I'm sure he wouldn't make the same mistake again and that he did everything to get voice back for Moscow concert.

Well, you'll tell us Katya. :)

OMG!! now I've seen those videos I believe it too!! His voice sounds really bad!! I agree with you that they should have told the audience what was happening, but it's good they cut the set short. I really hope they will play in Moscow Catra!!

At homo in Vilnius

A message from Stefan, after the bands performance at the Upa Arena in Vilnius, Lithuania last week :

'Every year the EU sends a bus around Europe to promote anti-discrimination rallies. This year in May the mayor of Vilnius banned it from entering the capital city of Lithuania. The reasons for this, he said was that it would cause riots and unrest. He has in the past supported actions that have put a stop to pro tolerance of minorities and sexual orientation in the workspace.

As we were touring Russia and the former eastern block we realized from the news and from people we met that this is not uncommon in these areas. We felt that we had to do something. We had a voice and since homosexuality is not illegal, nothing that we were to do would seriously jeopardize the tour.

So for the show in Vilnius, I took to writing ‘HOMO’ on my chest and in front of thousands me and Brian shared a long kiss. It was our act of public display of homosexuality, which isn’t our first time (!) and not something that is very shocking to most of us. But it seems that a lot of work is still needed for this discrimination to disappear. In our way, we did our bit that night.'

Europe 2 interview 2007 - part of the interview:

Kash: Well, there is another question as well that gnaws away at every fan who is there: it’s “Is the solo album in 2008 a rumor or will it be released? .

Brian: Pffffffffffffffffffff… Hmmmmm… You mean, like when Beyoncé left hmmmm…

Kash: The Spice Girls!

Brian: Ah no no! What was their name again?

Kash: Ah no! The Destiny’s Child!

Brian: The Destiny’s Child! Yeah, yeah.

Kash: You know, I’m not really into RnB so it’s a bit hard for me.

Brian: Ah yeah. So I’m working with P. Diddy at the moment and Jay Z. I want to make an RnB album.

Kash: Yeah?

Brian: And all the songs will be in French.

Kash: Not bad!

Brian: There may be one in Spanish.

The other host: Okay, not bad. Is there a date for…

Brian: For Mexican fans.

The other host: For fans in Mexico.

Brian: For fans in Mexico, voil .

There were a lot of talking about Brian's solo album before. Personally, I wouldn't like for it to happen. I love Placebo, as Placebo. I hope you all understand what I'm trying to say. Of course, I'd be very happy with new Placebo album in 2008. ^_^

I was very happy to read it too http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/catqw19/Smileys/sm5.gif Brian's solo album is an interesting idea but I'm afraid it can distract him from Placebo for years http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/catqw19/Smileys/cray.gif Though I'll be glad if he records some songs for Timo Maas or Alpinestars or something again.

Btw, they promised Brian would sing in some songs for Hotel Persona's album :naughty: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/catqw19/Smileys/crazy.gif

Yes. That's why I actually don't like that idea. I want new PLACEBO album in 2008 or 2009. ^_^

It isn't my fav also, but it's ok, I think. ^_^ Just maybe it could look more natural...

Yeah, that's basically the thing, it's edited to the point where Brian looks like a mannequin. :(
