Can the Swastika ever be descibed as a beautiful thing??? or does it depend on who is using it? Should it be banned thru-out the Eu as it is in Germany? or would this tight on all the Religions who have used it for year and years before it was appropiated by the Nazis for 'evil branding'. Could the Evil Nazi Swastika be said to be a design classic when vied from a design perspective??

your opinions?

Isn't the Swastika some religious symbol in the Far East? In Buddhism or Hinduism or some such thing? Didn't the Nazis steal it from there?

I've got to say, whilst I think what it stands for (in the most obvious sense of course) is horrible, I actually think it's a really nice symbol aesthetically.

It was a Hindu Holy symbol totally perverted by the Nazis.... As long as it is being used in its proper and original context and meaning, then fine, but otherwise, no...

No matter what it looks like, it is inappropriate to use it now.

In the same way that, while the Union Jack is quite a nice flag, I find its association with right wing politics in Britain has destroyed its image.

Trouble is though mate, you cant exactly dictate to a billion Hindus in India that they should jettison a symbol just because a bunch of bloody European white guys took it upon themselves to turn a pretty positive symbol into an utterly evil one... Wasn't their fault was it..? I'm betting your average Indian person is totally pissed off about it as much as you are...

Well...ok, but the jet black stark swastika on a white circle on a red background should be jettisoned.
Prince Harry once thought so...
