Hope they get someone good. Tarja might have been a total bitch, but she has a remarkable voice. It'll be difficult to find someone as good as her in that department.

I wonder what she's going to do now though? Might be interesting to see what solo stuff she comes up with.

Tarja actually has her own website - www.tarjateruenen.com. She's mainly doing Opera stuff now, she had a Christmas single which got No 1 in Finland. I think it was really always her intention to eventually go into Opera full-time...

Hmmm I actually doubt they will find anyone as good as Tarja TBH, even if they do I doubt the music (CC & OB albums) could come close, but I'd give them a listen. It's a whole new band, you can replace a drummer ect but hardly ever the singer.

Anyway going off the letter on her website it's Tuomas with the problem not Tarja, Emppu did a letter and it's up on her website.

I dunno, I think Theatre of Tragedy have improved quite considerably since they got their new vocalist, mind you, ToT's last album was a fukkin' spectacular misfire. But technically, Nell is better than their previous vocalist, Liv Kristine (who you may have seen and heard in Cradle of Filth's "Nymphetamine" vid...). Nightwish must be kicking themselves that ToT got their hands on Nell before they did as she'd've been a more than adequate replacement for Tarja....  One of the silliest rumours that I heard was that Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation was gonna join Nightwish....Yeah, like she'd quit the fukkin' band she formed......  There's a couple of good ones that Nightwish could try, providing they could coax them away from their respective bands - Floor Jansen (After Forever), Simone Simons (Epica), Becki (Seasons End), all classically-trained vocalists...

Tuomas formed Nightwish and he cares deeply and passionately about the band, the problem he was having were more to do with Tarja's husband trying to muscle-in more than Tarja herself as I understood it, but Tarja had by all accounts been starting to act like a bit of a Diva and considering herself more important than the band as a whole. Considering Tuomas writes all the songs, that was a very foolish move on her part...

It's a shame it had to happen, but one member of a band cannot consider themselves to be 'bigger' than the band, especially when they dont really contribute to the actual song-writing process.... And she really should've told her husband to butt-out of the band's business.... Fukkin' male Yoko..... <_<

Some bands can, but I doubt Nightwish could come back with someone even better, she had the voice she had the look, her voice went well with the lyrics, I'm used to hearing her sing them....

That is a stupid thing to do, and you're right no one is higher than anyone else in a band. A singer alone don't make the band.

Maybe tho that was her way out.

I don't see what the band has to mean to her hubby apart from Tarja being on the road all the time, if that's down to him she needs a re-think.

Like I say, I just heard that he was trying to interfere with the band and influence Tarja a bit too much. If it is true, you cant really blame Tuomas objecting to someone who had really nothing to do with the band attempting to interfere. It's an age-old problem, like I said, it's the "Yoko Factor" - a band member's other half trying to interere and it ends up fukkin' things up. Which, let's face it, it kinda did in the end....

Yeah true, I would like it actually if she got a band behind her and started a fresh, she's done it for so long with Nightwish and it seems ashame to let all that go waste. The opera stuff is pretty c**p, yeah it's her voice and all but you can count me out listening to it.....

She's actually got a band of her own called Leaves' Eyes. I'm planning to get their latest album, Vinland Saga, when I have enough money. They remind of a watered down Nightwish.

Anyway, I don't know whether I'll be able to listen to Nightwish without Tarja, she made the band for me. That said, I said that about the Sugababes and now I  Ammelle. I suppose I'll give the new vocalist a chance, if they find one.

Hmmm, interesting. She used to be in Theatre of Tragedy, but got booted out for her Diva tendencies and the fact that she wanted to go in a musial direction that the rest of the band didnt. She did a solo album a few years ago which was very watered-down sounding Nightwish as well, it wasnt great. Although the song she did with Paradise Lost's Nick Holmes was pretty cool....
