UK FLOP EURO MONSTER HIT

Here is a song by a British act that when pre released to UK radio stations last year, it's reaction was so negative that the single got pulled.

It has since gone on to top the German, Swiss, Italian, Spanish & Portuguese charts and has so far sold 650K+ within Europe.

Oh and a certain spectacle wearing, ginger haired DJ played it today on his new Radio show & is starting a campaign to get this song finally released in the UK.

What do you think?

I always thought that was a completely average and mundane song, but if it's doing so well in Europe she should release it here as it's a chance to give her another big hit, cos let's face it she won't get many more.

the only problem is where as American chart seller are viewed with amazement, to be big in germany is not seen as such a wonderful thing, as Germans are not supposeed (as a stereotype) not to have any taste. we laugh at their haircuts and their taste in dated rock and pop

Yes, it should be re-promoted. Mel C is great, it kinda got zapped because Mel B flopped.

However Mel C already is the most successful Spice Girl and it will continue, with or without UK support.

Nelson's (I Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection was number 1 in the States in 1990, but only reached about no.50 in the UK. There are a few reasons for this.

1. Their dad was Ricky Nelson who's probably more popular over the pond.

2. They were twins with long blonde hair.

3. The song made Mr Big's To Be With You sound butch and manly.

Juanes - La Camisa Negra. It's released this week but I doubt it's gonna do much despite topping the charts in Germany and France and other European countries as well as all over Latin America.
Is Chris Evans really promoting Melanie's song - i hope so cos it's a really good song and deserves success!!!

so were these all number one in Germany then?

ATC - Around The World (they were actually American)

Great song-No.1 in my chart for 6 weeks in 2002 having been a top 10 hit on European release in 2000. They weren't American though. One was from England, one from Italy, one from Australia and one from New Zealand. I was so obsessed with this band back in the day. I did my music coursework to this track-had to learn and perform it live. And I wrote an English essay creative writing on them!!!

wasnt this done by the same bloke who did right said fred? i went to this free festival last year and was taking to this guy who was a mate of a mate. He had lived in germany for a while and was ranting about how is fave techno producer had sold out and started writing for these acts.

I know a few #1 in America that flopped in the UK.

The One That You Love-Air Supply

Who Can It Be Now-Men At Work

Amanda-Boston

One More Try-Timmy T

All these songs hit #1 in the US but never made the top 40 in the UK or the UK chart period

Brilliant song - her best for ages. I bought it 6 months ago on import. Deserves Top 3.

As for your comment about American chart sellers. Their taste in music is more rubbish than the German's.

Most urban stuff isn't music, it's just some guy shouting.

So I know which music I prefer.
