Slayer are set to release their Warner Bros. debut and first studio album since 2001's 'God Hates Us All' on July 24th.

Recorded in Los Angeles, the new album - as yet untitled - will feature eleven tracks produced by Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver) with Rick Rubin acting as executive producer. A digital release, tracks to be determined, will precede the album on June 6th.

Guitarist Kerry King commented, "It's definitely going to be a riff-fest. There's riffs all over the place. As much time as we had to work on it, there better be riffs on it. I think anybody who likes Slayer, musically, is going to love it."

The album also marks the return of original drummer Dave Lombardo who recently returned to the band having departed after 1991's 'Decade Of Aggression' live album. Renowned as one of metal's greatest drummers, Lombardo's activities since leaving have including five albums with the Mike Patton-led experimentalists Fantomas, forming the progressive thrash band Grip Inc. and collaborating with an eclectic range of artists including John Zorn, DJ Spooky and Apocalyptica.

Slayer and Mastodon will spend the summer touring North America on the Unholy Alliance Tour. Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom and Thine Eyes Bleed provide the support. Slayer's last UK show was a triumphant set on the main stage of last year's Download festival.

Since debuting with 1983's 'Show No Mercy', Slayer have proved to be one of the metal world's most consistently strong forces. 'Reign In Blood' (1986) and 'Seasons In The Abyss' (1990) are widely acknowledged to be amongst the genre's key releases. In recent years, Slayer have upheld their reputation with albums such as 'Diabolus In Musica' (1998) and 'God Hates Us All' (2001).
