April 27, 200718 yr It will prob get quite high I suppose. With the concert and everything, I think maybe a top 5 at least.
April 27, 200718 yr It is an amazing song, I can admit that! It prob will go number 1 actually! This country loved Diana!
April 27, 200718 yr I'll repeat WHY IS IT BEING RE-RELEASED? Also, do you have a source for this story?
April 27, 200718 yr cos 10 years ago Diana died...???? Well that's a really good reason to re-release it isn't it? <_<
April 27, 200718 yr Hard so say where it will chart. It's been a hit already in 3 different versions The original in 1974 UK#4 - a live version in 1988 UK#5 - then there was the tribute version to Princess Diana 10 years ago in 1997 and this became both the UK & the Worlds biggest selling single ever - selling around 5 million in the UK alone. It's still a brilliant song none-the-less. Edited April 29, 200718 yr by Euro Music
April 27, 200718 yr I think you mean 5 million in the UK alone. It will prob sell well again this time around.
April 27, 200718 yr Lmfao - '5k in the UK alone'. The achievement! Hope it doesnt do that well, its had its time. It deserves to sell 5k (in the UK alone) though!
April 27, 200718 yr I think this is a big mistake, that song is so iconic of Diana and for many it's a song to mourn to. It's had its time, the world's biggest-selling single does NOT need re-releasing
April 28, 200718 yr I don't see why some people are against any re-releases. Until the last 10 years re-releases were quite normal. I think it makes the charts fun. Older fans can remember what it was like and what they were doing when the record first came out. Younger ones who don't remember the record can hear what they missed. Many younger people like retro music - same as some older music fans like some of today's music. Music (new or old) should be able to be enjoyed by anyone who wants to listen to it. There are enough biases from Record Companies who don't release new music that some people want and then they have to resort to imports. I can be included in this in that I like lots of European Music, US Country Music and Canadian Rock but do record companies release them - rarely. Record companies will always release music that somebody hates and not release music that somebody loves. On the dislikes side for me is modern urban. I think it is tuneless - and has too much attitude. People have different opinions. Many people will not like what I like. What is wrong is the bias of the record companies to release music that some like and don't release music others like. They should release some music for everyone. Also UK radio has a lot to answer for. I listen mainly to European stations on the internet at home. I know they speak in their native language but it's the music I like. Stations like Radio 538 from Holland, N-Joy Radio from Germany, Radio Donna from Belgium and Eldoradio from Luxembourg. Edited April 28, 200718 yr by Euro Music
April 28, 200718 yr Bad idea. :( I'm so sick of pointless reissues every 5 minutes, c**p charity songs and X Factor $h!t selling bucketloads. Even though I like this song what's the point? I hope it flops painfully - who doesn't have it by now? :smoke:
April 28, 200718 yr Such a bad, bad idea :( :( :( LifeLight I agree, it's had it's day and that was in the year of Princess Diana's death and the funeral.
April 28, 200718 yr Who can still be left to buy it? Anyway I feel strongly about this being the best selling single ever because people bought it because for what it stood by, not for how good it was. Do those who bought it still play it? Do those who bought more than one have played each one of them? I do play it but to hear the other A-side "Something about the way you look tonight".
April 28, 200718 yr Couldn't care less about Diana, Candle In The Wind will for me always be associated with Marilyn Monroe regardless of whether it was hijacked to remember Diana !
