May 26, 200718 yr I also liked him in "Raising Arizona" as well..... but i think thats to do with the greatness of the film & coens rather than the actor. still rather have Jason Lee

September 10, 200717 yr Author Watched this the other night...anyone seen? AMAZING film. The acting is just INCREDIBLE. Yep, one of my favourite films of the year this is.... :D I actually did a thread on it when it came out.... ;) Dunno where it is now though....

June 2, 200817 yr oh my.... in word.. wow. This film is something i havent seen before and chooses a very interesting era of england to persue in comparison to todays society. It definitly reaches out to me as a teenager and someone who's gone through somehting like that iin a very similar way but acted out differently. It shows the... (i think fascism (sp??) is the right word) in england and people cultural beliefs. I think the acting was absolutely FANTASTIC. i think the performance from Combo was top-notch. The kid was also a very good actor. Usually kid actors are quite wooden but i think he pulled it off ^_^ the interesting montage at the beginning and the end was a great way to set the scene as i had no idea whatsoever what life was like in 1983 but it certainly helped put the pieces together interms of the films significance. And the boys eyes at the end were absolutely haunting so hats off to the director ^_^ I do think however, that one of the films biggest flaws is the fact that whilst some may applaud it for its sheer brilliance, i know some people that would applaud it for the characters fascists belief system -_- but i guess thats just the sheer arrogance of society. Instant classic and would buy if i could ^_^ i would say about 4/4.5 out of 5 ^_^ Edited June 2, 200817 yr by Joao Filipe

June 4, 200817 yr I wanted to see more of Woody's character at the end. . then watch 'emmerdale' he plays more or less the same character, only with more hair... i was dissappointed tbh... there were some MAJOR flaws. it was set in july 83..... thats a year AFTER the falklands war so why did it focus on the victory at port stanley at the end of the film? NO WAY would a snotty little kid be befriended by some skins.. there were some huge fashion faux pas too, and WHY was strawberry switchblade 'since yesterday' playing?... did they have a time machine or summut? as it wasnt even created for another 18 months... them geezers with the bald heads and goatee beards?... that look came from the biker fraternity, not the skinheads... good idea... poor story, high on nostalgia if you dont look too hard.
