The 2007 MTV Australia Video Music Awards kicked off in true style at Sydney's Acer Arena last night in front of thousands of industry guests and fans and a global audience of billions.

 

Pink certainly got the party started opening the show with a breath taking medley of her hits U + Ur Hand, a cover of Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These) before breaking out into 'Get This Party Started' strutting an acrobatic performance in the middle of a pink glitter storm.

 

Kicking off the proceedings for the night was Black Eyed Peas front woman, Fergie and Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden who lead an array of local and international talent which included hot (and we mean hot) performances by Silverchair, Good Charlotte, Fergie, Sneaky Sound System, Stephanie Macintosh, 30 Seconds To Mars, Evermore, Eskimo Joe, Teddy Geiger and Damien Leith.

 

Pink and 30 Seconds To Mars lead the MTV AVMA's winners ladder with both artists walking away with two gongs each which included a win by Pink for Best Female Artist, whilst 30 Seconds To Mars walked away with the coveted Best Rock Video platypus.

 

Even after being denied access in to Australia, Snoop Dogg still bagged an award for Best Hip Hop Video, accepting his award via recorded message.
