Take That will be performing at the Diana memorial concert

Take That will perform at the Concert For Diana, it has been confirmed.

Jason, Mark, Gary and Howard will play at the July 1 gig at the new Wembley stadium - which would have been Diana's 46th birthday.

The chart-toppers will perform alongside a host of other famous faces including Sir Elton John, Lily Allen, Bryan Ferry, Joss Stone, Pharrell Williams and Duran Duran

There is also speculation that Robbie Williams may join his former bandmates for the performance.

An insider told the Daily Mirror: "Princes William and Harry know that to get Robbie back with Take That will be a real coup.

"The BBC is doing everything they can to make it happen. Robbie's been fairly receptive to the idea and Take That would love it if it came together.

"In the past few months a dialogue has really opened up between Robbie and his ex-bandmates.

"He was really touched by how supportive the lads were during his rehab."

Take That and Robbie to reunite?

Tuesday, May 1, 2007

Foursome confirmed for Di gigTake That have joined the line-up for the Concert For Diana, it was confirmed today.

It is hoped that Robbie Williams might join his ex-bandmates on stage for the first time in 12 years.

The group initially turned down an invitation to perform at the event, to be held at Wembley Stadium on July 1, because they had booked holidays.

Band member Mark Owen said: "We were all due to be away with our families on the date of the event when the concert was first announced, but after being asked to perform last week we got together and decided we wanted to do anything we could to help make Diana's concert one of the highlights of the summer.

"Diana was an inspiration to so many people and we feel privileged to have met her."

Take That join a line-up which includes Lily Allen, Sir Elton John, Joss Stone, Rod Stewart, Bryan Ferry and Kanye West.

The event has been devised by Princes William and Harry as a celebration of their mother's life, and will be broadcast live to millions of viewers in more than 140 countries.

The concert marks what would have been Diana's 46th birthday.

Prince William said: "We wanted to have this big concert, full of energy, full of the sort of fun and happiness which I know she would have wanted. And on her birthday as well, it's got to be the best birthday present she ever had."

At last week's annual What's On Awards, rock and roll took home the honours, as the Robbie Williams concert of April 2006 was awarded the What's On Concert of the Year Award. The funky home fashion brand took on the role of sole sponsor of the concert in celebration of their 10th anniversary in the Middle East; bringing Robbie Williams to Dubai proved to be the perfect gift to the people who have made THE One the brand it is today!

The concert was Dubai's biggest ever, drawing over 25,000 fans, and the first to be held in front of the Millennium Grandstand at Dubai's Nad Al Sheba. The event also offered a number of unprecedented amenities for fans, such as children's podiums and areas for physically challenged individuals which set new standards for concerts held in the UAE.

About the sponsorship, Thomas Lundgren, inventor of THE One, said: "We think everyone should have some fun and live their dream! We [hadn't] done any market research as to what we [would] get out of the sponsorship. But life is short. Sometimes one just has to live a little..."

Take That and Robbie to reunite?

It is hoped that Robbie Williams might join his ex-bandmates on stage for the first time in 12 years.

must be another slow news month for TT if they are using Robbie to get headlines again -_-

TT reunion: I'd say Rob, go ahead and do it and if it's only to get it over and done with. I'm tired of this never ending speculation. If he doesn't do it at the

Diana tribute concert there will be rumours about TT's tour and on and on it will go. So let's get it out of the way please.

Plus imo that Diana concert is probably the best occasion to do it if it must happen.

I sincerly hope Rob is out in LA hanging out with his mates and recording music, and is paying absolutelly NO attention to this endless utter c**p in the UK press about a TT reunion. I am so f***ing sick of it. He should just ignore everything for the rest of the year, then eventually the press will finally get bored of doing nothing other than repeatinf the same old c**p over and over. He should've be in the spotlight for a long time imo, he needs to be away from it and all the negetivity until it eventually dies down. Why should we expect him to go onstage, and get stressed out and nevous. For what? What would come of it? I can just imagine now, people saying how he tried to steal the spotlight away from TT and only did it to get attention. The amount of people that have an extremly low opinion of Rob is astonishing, it is by no means just the press. <_<

And I don't think, him doing it just to get it out of the way is a good enough reason to put himself under all that stress at all. If he does the gig with TT, then what will be next? The press will always find something else to harp on about. Whether it be, him recording a song/album with them, touring with them or whatever. It won't stop until they get bored and certain people stop speculating imo. <_<

I hope he ignores it all and continues to do so. And if he wants to perform a duet with someone at the gig, then Kylie would be far better to do it with imo.

I kind of hope he doesn't go anywhere near this Diana Concert. For a variety of reasons. <_<

Firstly i reckon he gave up on the UK press years ago

and your completely right, no good can come from a reunion as the press will just find some way to back fire it on Robbie making him look bad and Gary Bore-low look good, its pathetic to expect that just because they keep saying its gonna happen that it will actually happen...idiot press w*nkers

oh and personally most artists would be better for a duet then TT :P :D ^_^

My suspicions are that the ' Mirror ' is stirring it again... they are like Sewer Rats ... waiting to strike whenever they can.

I heard that ' Gobsh**e Neil Sean again on Sky News this morning saying that TT had signed a new deal for the TT brand which would include endorsements for bedlinen & other paraphanelia, etc & that GB had very kindly included Rob in the deal & how nice of him it was to do so. Neil is running out of things to say as I heard him say the same thing two months ago... That BIG TOOTHED GOBSH**E should be got rid of by Sky News ... he is a total t*** & waste of space & he never stops digging at Rob.

So its RW bashing time from now on... that will keep them going for the Summer......' Boll***s....

I apologise for the bad language... but.................. :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: :arrr:

Take That bedlinen?

Isn't that kind of thing just for 7 year olds? I used to have a Donny Osmond pillowcase. :P

I cannot stand that bast*rd Neil Sean. He is a truely sickening creature, absolutelly awful. He is on the Biography Channel as well, has his own show about celebs. He makes so many digs at Rob. I would love to give him a good slap.

Btw, did you hear, that mad Barbra Streisand is charging about €735 per ticket and cheapest for €150 for her concerts in the summer. Who the hell does she think she is?????? And her spokesperson defended her by saying something like the gig is a "momentous occasion that ranks up there with seeing Sinatra or Elvis".

Yeah.... that is exactly what I though... cringeworthy stuff.......but as I said that Neil Sean is a right idiot & likes to think he is cool..

I would have though that TT at their age would be gone past the bedlinen stage as well...............who wants to buy a TT or RW pillowcase... but that's what he said....

Can you follow how RW is still earning from TT merchandise... a bit weird... I would have though all that had been sorted when they broke up....

Them lads are spreading themselves very thin ... LOL bedlinen, what's next a new generation of TT dolls

Well I don't know what Rob needs to get it over and for who and why ??

I can just see the press now, saying that he's crawling or crawled back to TT because his career is in trouble or over with and any subsequent success he'll have will be attributed to him having performed with TT at this Princess Diana concert. I don't think his hard work, success and talent should be reduced to that, not after what he's accomplished on his own and how much sweat he's put into the last 10 years.

I think the time is wrong for it, not now, not how the atmosphere and attitude is toward Rob and his career in the UK is at the moment.

Plus just out of principal, if I'd be Rob, I wouldn't set foot on that stage not after how the press/media in the UK have treated him this year alone and now they want to use him to pat themselves on the back for accomplishing such a coup and make more money for themselves. And then they'll turn around and slag him off again. I hope he doesn't allow himself to be used in such a way by the media rats.

Im more upset about the ' pillowcase $h!t' than the concert... J***S .. talking about going backwards....Although I did say that Neil Sean is an idiot... so maybe he made the whole thing up... it would not surprise me.

I remember him saying around the end of last year about how much everyone loved Rob & why they loved him so much & then he showed part of the Millennium video... then a few days later he jumped on the RW bashing wagon along with everyone else & became the right F*****G idiot that he is.....

I just give up......................... :puke2: :puke2: :puke2:

Scotty... Im glad that you agree about that Neil Sean .. hs is a right little Bol**x  sorry about the language it must be the Gaeilge in us.... he gets on so well with Louis Walsh who is another one of those Bx's....

I heard them saying on the radio today about the BS tickets & I ignored it as I thought that I had made a mistake... Is she feeling alright... I know she is good ....but.......so is Bette Midler....BTW... what happened to Bette... that last time I saw her was Meet The f***ers video on a plane coming back from Aussie ( where I succeeded on waking up the whole plane because of my laughing out loud ) B) so funny............

Happy-go-lucky boy pop.

A Lebanese-American refugee named Mika Holbrook Penniman fled from his birthplace, Beirut, to Paris for better days. Education at a snazzy music school ensured performances ranging from opera to pop music.

Now called Mika, he has unleashed a debut album via London recording studios.

The opener, Grace Kelly, is the first single and its quirky sing-along lyrics are delivered with a fun, high-pitched chorus.

Mika sings in the opener: "I tried to be like Grace Kelly. But all her looks were too sad. So I've tried a little Freddie. I've gone identity mad!"

It's immediately uplifting.

Overall, the sound is reminiscent of Robbie Williams and Mika has also been likened to Freddie Mercury.

He still has a long way to go before reaching the magnitude or commercial success of either of these two artists, though. Charismatic deliveries include Any Other World, a sweet tune that exhibits angelic backing vocals. Big Girl (You are Beautiful) is an homage to slightly more than curvaceous girls.

Musical influences include early dance, disco and '80s pop. The kids are gonna dig this. - Yazeed Kamaldien

HA ! Sorry for getting excited, I jump at every slightly positive comment as they are so rare these days -_-

So true though what they say - I think Mika is alright and he's the man of the moment, but let's see where he is in five years.
