And I have tickets :cheer:

Rumours are rife that they are trying to get Robbie to join the band on stage, personally i'm not bothered whether he does or not, it would be nice, but it doesn't have to happen

I have a feeling that he will do it though

Take That to play Diana concert

Take That have confirmed they will play at the Diana memorial concert at Wembley Stadium on 1 July.

The band, who reunited last year, have been added to a bill which already includes Lily Allen and Sir Elton John.

The foursome had to reschedule their time off so they could participate in the gig, which will mark the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

Singer Mark Owen said: "Diana was an inspiration to so many people and we feel privileged to have met her."

'Birthday present'

"We decided we wanted to do anything we could to help make Diana's concert one of the highlights of the summer," he added.

The charity concert which will also mark what would have been the Princess of Wales's 46th birthday, has been organised by her sons Princes William and Harry.

They have said they wanted it to be "the best birthday present" for their mother. She was known to be a keen fan of pop music.

The first 22,500 tickets sold out in minutes when they went on sale in December and another 10,000 tickets were released last week.

Rod Stewart, Kanye West, Duran Duran, Bryan Ferry, Joss Stone and Pharrell Williams. have also confirmed they will perform.

The show will be broadcast live to millions of viewers in over 140 countries around the world.

I wonder what song they'll sing......i hope its back for good.

I think the best song for TT to sing if they perform at the Diana concert as a 5 piece would be Never Forget..... I can't imagine there would be a dry eye in the house if they did that one

I'm not so sure that Robbie will do it though. If he's in the country I don't think he'd be able to resist, and it would be good to get it over with, but personally I'm not bothered...

I'm looking forward to seeing Take That with or without Robbie, and I admit, there's a part of me that wants to see them do brilliantly without him :cheer:

is robbie even performing solo??

Nope he is not. And as much as I would like for them to get this reunion out of the way once and for all to stop the endless speculation, I think the right time has passed tbh.

That Spoof joke is very funny though, I agree Kathy

Scotty - I knew you'd like it! I agree - I think the time has passed for any sort of reunion even for just one song. I thinks its best left the way it is. By all accounts (if the media would just butt-out) they seem to have a bit of a friendship going at the moment and its best not to jeopardise that.

Only these 5 guys could decide what's right and what's wrong for them!

I'd pay cash to see RW's fans faces if he ever joined the boys again.

  • 1 month later...
it would be good for robbie to rejoin them but he's had his chances to be with them i doubt he's gunna come back to perform with them now its been a year now so...

Why would you want to pay money to see RW fans faces if Robbie re-joined his old band. It really cheeses me of big time, why may I ask. :puke2:

I think I would love to see him come on for a one off song, Mark did it at Knebworth and did we say we would love to pay money to see your faces..not that I recall. Its really so childish.

I am going to the concert on Sunday, and I will be looking forward to watching TT and I am not a TT fan, I like them but I am not a fan as such.

I hope you all enjoy their performance, although I would rather be seeing a Robbie performance with them or without them, but I'll be up for it either way.

It would never happen anyway. I'd rather they left well alone. I think now there's going to be so much media fuss with the Spice Girls reunion (certain parts of the press are already stirring things by building up a Geri V Posh thing) that hopefully - they've lost interest in Robbie / Take that and there'll be no more of this nonsense of - TT / Robbie / will he / won't he. I know I'd rather have them as a foursome and he obviously does fine just on his own.

I just hope they don't sing IWFL! I want to be cheered up!

Hope you enjoy the concert Susie - hope it stays dry for you all. I'm going to be watching from the comfort of my own living room with a nice bottle of wine!

I am hoping the weather is going to get better too..

Kathy I don't dislike your idea either, a glass of wine in the comfort of your lounge is equally appealing.

Sadly I do not think the media will totally give up on the "will he or won't he" thing, even though the Spice Girls have diverted the attention away at the moment.

As you say you would rather they stayed as a four piece, and so would I and that really was always going to be the case anyway regardless if he came on for a quick reunion or not.

They are doing fine as a quartet and Robbie's solo career is phenominal, but I still think you will get Robbie with them all again one day, and out of all the lads, Robbie is the one that springs suprises just when you think he won't. The very time when nobody is expecting it is when it could happen. Robbie has never been or will be dull or predictable. :)

Enjoy your tipple.

Does anyone know what song they'll be singing?

'Concert for Diana' lineup set

Music giants to pay tribute to the life of the people's princess.

By JIM FARBER

New York Daily News

Princes William and Harry had just one request for their mother's favorite musician, Sir Elton John, for her anniversary concert this weekend. They asked that he not perform the weepy "Candle in the Wind," the song he revealed at her funeral with new, and especially maudlin, lyrics.

After all, this is a concert meant to celebrate Princess Diana's life, not commemorate her death, which occurred 10 years ago. VH1 plans to air all six hours of the show from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The five-hour time difference from London accounts for the early hour here. NBC will broadcast highlights of the event at 8 p.m.

According to VH1, the day will be divided into three 90-minute segments, with the middle bit a tad fatter. Twenty-minute breaks will fall between segments, but the nonperformance sections will be crammed with lots of taped segments, toasting Diana's life and explaining her personal connections to some of the performers.

Here's a current rundown of who's set to appear:

First segment

A welcome from Princes William and Harry

Elton John

Nelly

James Morrison

Lily Allen

The Feeling

Fergie

Duran Duran

The English National Ballet

Second segment

Status Quo

Joss Stone

Orson

Roger Hodgson of Supertramp

Tom Jones

Will Young

Natasha Bedingfield

Pharrell

Bryan Ferry

An Andrew Lloyd Webber performance, featuring Donny Osmond and Andrea Bocelli.

Third segment

Rod Stewart

Kanye West

Diddy

Take That (plus Special Guest)

Elton John

Any Comments on the lineup/setlist?

Wonder who Take That's special guest will be? I hope it's not the expected rumour about Posh & Ginger (William & Harry) dancing with them!
