Posted May 3, 200718 yr "Kelly Clarkson's comeback is not going as well as planned! Her poorly-received new single, Never Again, debuted at #8 in the singles charts this week, according to the latest Billboard 100. Clarkson's debut comes in two spots lower than fellow American Idol alum Carrie Underwood, whose beautiful cover of The Pretenders classic I'll Stand By You debuted at #6 and is continuing to outperform Kelly on all the Internet download charts. Hope Miz Clarkson has a second single to unleash real quick. One that's good!" From PerezHilton.com Number 8s still good tho imo
May 3, 200718 yr Is he thick? Carrie's is for CHARITY and was performed on IDOL.. so it is obv going to sell more.. and it is only a debut, it will climb... where did SUBG, BTHE, WA, B, BOY debut?
May 3, 200718 yr In all honesty, who actually CARES how well the single does? Of course it's nice if it does well, but in terms of your music career, the album is what can REALLY make or break your career. Even if My December flops (which i'm 100% sure it won't) she will definately get another chance. ^_^
May 3, 200718 yr One of the most ridiculous articles I have ever read, whoever wrote that needs poisoning. a #8 debut on billboard is amazingly impressive.
May 5, 200718 yr Ok since when is #8 considered bad in the US? Considering the single will probably climb one or two spots as the radio play picks up Im pretty sure this song will be a hit. Everyone i've talked to thats heard the song says they love it. Its a grower, give it a chance. And if im wrong so be it, but i think people are writing it off way too fast.
May 5, 200718 yr Perez is such a noob. For a track to debut at #8 that hasn't had ANY promotion is fantastic. The promotional video only debuted a few days ago. It got to #8 without a video, promotion or a physical release. Massive flop, isn't it!
May 5, 200718 yr All right, 8 is not that bad..I've seen some bands/singers debut in the double digits on the chart.
May 6, 200718 yr 8 is a great debut considering airplay was below 30m AI and there had been no promotional devices used [performances/video released - at the time of digital release]... We should hopefully see things pick up over the next few days... As for the other singles AMLT - #1 SUBG - #2 BTHE - #6 Breakaway - #6 BOY - #7 MI - #9 WA - #12
May 8, 200718 yr Well i think its peak is really down to fans who have waited for new material, and not really the actual song which has made people want to buy it.I wouldnt be surprised if this is the songs peak, because i seriously dont see the appeal of the song.
May 9, 200718 yr Dropped a few spots on the Hot Digital Songs this week, expect a drop to around 15 on the Hot 100
