We have just received the following information from Sony BMG:

"I know there are lots of rumours about a new song. There is a song that is the possible new single – but it is not definate that it is the new single. It’s between 2 songs at the moment.

Look out for an announcement about their comeback in the daily star tomorrow!"

That was received from Shoshanna today.

Shoshanna is the guys UK publicist, in case you're wondering.

So there will be an announcement in the Daily Star tomorrow...I'll post the info when I hear what the announcement said.

EDIT See my post below for the 'news'!

The news from the Daily Star today:

"Backstreet Boys have teamed up with the co-writer of Take That's super smash hit Patience. The US manband plan to include a special track with songsmith John Shanks of their next album, which is set for release in August. Now down to a four piece outfit since founding member Kevin Richardson, 35, quit last year, Backstreet reformed in 2005"

Not really much news, but still it says the album will be out August .

so did i

well they're coming back as a 4 piece man band now and i looove how they called them "Man Band"

and this is the contiung from the last comeback :)

Well they came back in 2005, and now they have another new album in 2007. What else would you call a new album, if not a comeback?

Theres 2 new bsb song one is called"Happily Never After" and the other "Helpless When She Smiles"

i really dont want a ballad for a first single unless its a great summer ballad with killer haromies

that will become a "Hit" but i still wish for an up-tempo.

yeah...I am very excited about the songs which played on US radio in the last couple of days. Just wish someone had recorded it so we could hear...especially 'happily never after' - which is apparently similar in style to drowning with each member taking a solo verse etc - back to the old BSB style :).

They've flopped actually. Maybe a second attempt. :)

It wasn't a flop...unless maybe you are comparing it to the 'Millennium' hey day.

Well they scrapped platinum, so they did ok....

Plus a they managed a big world tour incl 5 dates in UK (2 at Wembley). That is not too bad for a flop.

Well they did nowhere near as good as they were before. At least in Europe. The singles flopped (apart from the first, Incomplete which was a good one actually IMO)

And they disappeared again rather fast.

They were touring until late January 2006...then since July 2006 they were recording the new album, plus Brian released his solo album. So they didn't really dissappear. At least the fans knew what they were up to :).

Their album didn't do so bad that they got dropped.
