Two bouncers were injured when gunshots rang out during Kanye West's Birmingham gig last night (February 28). Police have arrested a woman and a man in relation to the incident, which occurred after people without tickets attempted to storm the Birmingham NEC. A police spokesperson said, "This incident involved individuals who had been ejected from the venue for attempting to gain entrance into a pop concert without tickets." He continued, "Firearms were discharged and two stewards were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening." One bouncer is still in hospital receiving treatment for his wounds. The Birmingham gig was the last date in Kanye's 'Touch The Sky' tour of the UK, which has seen the producer-turned-rapper put on a 90 minute-long performance. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the concert to come forward.

In related Kanye news, the rapper earned Best Solo Artist at the ShockWaves NME awards last week, despite competition from British favorites Ian Brown and Richard Ashcroft. Meanwhile, word is that while he’s been in the UK, ‘Ye has been working with Michael Jackson on the single ‘I Have This Dream’. All profits from the single will go towards the Hurricane Katrina relief fund and the single is expected to be released in the next few weeks.
