Old songs and dead people made chart history this year, neither was a good sign.

wham!...................'edge of heaven', which was my fav track of the year, superb 60's sounding melodic ... wham at their very best.

This was the year when the wheels were starting to come off the quality of music made. Their was definitely an increase in dross (old songs reissued, novelty records, soap stars & models making records, etc) clogging up the charts than in previous years:
