Posted May 6, 200718 yr Based on everything really promo, sales, songs etc. I'd say its been a bit of a disaster :( I was really impressed with the album at first but now that I've listened to it it doesnt really compare with "Stripped" at all does it? Also the promoiton of the album has been terrible and her record label have just been counting on the singles to make the album sell, which really does not work. I hope she hurrys up and ends this ERA and does not wait 4 years for her next album as I dont think shes going to have as many fans prepared to wait that long after this let down. May 6, 200718 yr Woop! I realised this a few months ago  The Stripped Era was AMAZING. The style, the clothes, the sound, the promotion, the touring, EVERYTHING just fitted together. Where as this era is just a bit boring/pathetic tbh and just getting boring now
May 6, 200718 yr it rele annoys me when someone doesnt do as good as there previous effort of an album but still great and people call it a disaster or a flop ffs!!
May 6, 200718 yr it rele annoys me when someone doesnt do as good as there previous effort of an album but still great and people call it a disaster or a flop ffs!! Yes but the reason I have gone of the Back To Basics era is that basiclly overall, it's crap and a waste of time. Has got nothing to do with sales ^_^
May 6, 200718 yr Christina has made her name now and I think it's fair to let her sing what she wants. B2B was amazing, you just have to have a more diverse taste in music to appreciate it fully. She has said that her next album is a different direction however, and she's already written a couple of tracks.
May 6, 200718 yr I'd agree ... Stripped made me a Xtina fan, but B2B did nothing to reassure me. I'd rather have had a single disk of hugely high quality songs, I only like about half of B2B. Nothing seems to have happened this time round, for Stripped it just seemed to work.
May 6, 200718 yr I was so excited about BIIB, but was disappointed. Stripped was so good, BIIB didn;t compare at all. The singles off BIIB flopped too, whereas the Stripped ones all did very well...
May 6, 200718 yr TBH.. i downloaded this album listened to it and hated it.. gave it a few tries and still hated.. i do love hurt however but that is about it from it ANOM is ok
May 7, 200718 yr I'm sure fans loved this era no matter what. She had the freedom to do whatever she wanted and it obviously made her happy to go back to her classic roots and experiment this time around and again, as I'm sure she experimented a lot during the Stripped era. The difference is that this era might not have been as commercial, but I applaude her for being brave and release what she wanted to release.
May 7, 200718 yr This is what happens when artists become over indulgent :( B2B is two discs of Christina's self indulgence whereas Stripped was full of pretty cutting edge pop that was relevant and made an impact.
May 7, 200718 yr well i personally adore this album, and i think the majority of the songs are brilliant. yea it doesnt compare to stripped, but thats a very hard album to topple. hope she releases at least 1 more single from b2b. but ye i would like to see a new direction for the next album
May 7, 200718 yr Although the B2B singles have been better than the Stripped singles, the whole style is just awful; shes gone all 1930s or whatever but one of the best things about Christina was that she was filthy, and she knew it. It made her HOT!
May 7, 200718 yr When I first got the album I didn't like it at all, but it's recently grown on me. :D
May 7, 200718 yr Author TBH I think the biggest mistake was releasing "Hurt" as the second single its not commerial enough. Also the gap between "ANOM" and "Hurt" was way to long as well.
May 7, 200718 yr There's so many mistakes. :manson: Firstly I think the album has been SORELY underpromoted if you compare it to Stripped which was everywhere, TV ads, performances left, right and centre, doing specials for CD:UK etc. However I don't think that's necessarily RCA's fault, in the UK there aren't actually any outlets left to promote your new single on. -_-
May 7, 200718 yr The only thing that has annoyed me is that her image revolved all around her music, for example, If she would pop out to the shops, she would still be in her retro 1930-image, if she was on the redcarpet, she would still be in that 1930-image She didnt need to look like that 24/7, it's silly really
May 7, 200718 yr Author Mistakes.. 01 - Singles to far apart 02 - Singles not commerial enough 03 - Not enough promo 04 - Candyman being a download only 05 - Album being double disc when it could have been a single disc wihout the fillers 06 - Album to expensive to start off with anyone like to carry on?
May 7, 200718 yr Well I guess it was always going to be difficult to do a follow up to stripped and whatever album she produced after that, it would always be compared. I do think there are some good songs on back to basics but it just hasnt done as well. I think the 2nd single "Hurt" was poorly received and only reached no11 in the UK. "Candyman" never got a physical release, which was disappointing and it has only helped the album slightly.
