Beverley Knight's brand new album 'Music City Soul' is finally released in the UK today.

The album was recorded in 5 days in Nashville, USA (known as 'Music City' due to it's rich musical heritage) late last year. The album sees Beverley adopting a live, organic soul sound that pushes her gospel roots to the fore - and the result is electric. The album is produced by Mark Nevers (producer of last year's acclaimed Candi Staton album) and features a fine collection of local Tennessee musicians who have played with legends such as Elvis Presley and Al Green.

'Music City Soul' also features the guitar playing of legendary Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood on three tracks: 'Every Time You See Me Smile', 'Black Butta' and 'Ain't That A Lot Of Love'. Wood, a long time fan of Knight's, offered his services after she played a gig with him in 2005 and he adds his flavour here in style

'Music City Soul' can be purchased at the following online stores -

Asda.co.uk

I bought my copy of Music City Soul about an hour ago! B)

Its in a square case, not one of the newer-style ones, but the artwork is nice (My dad thought it was stained  I explained thats the design lol). The booklet has no lyrics, just snap-shot style B&W pics of Bev, and then the credits and thankyous. She says she has waited all her life to make this album! :D

Highlights so far are After You, Black Butta and Tell Me Im Wrong, which is where im up to. 15 tracks is great too!! Hope everyone enjoys the album! Oh yeh, it was Sainsburys' number 1 album too! :)
