Quick question - in all of the press/radio play of the new McFly single (Baby's Coming Back) has anyone heard a mention of the fact that this is actually a cover of an old Jellyfish single. I've not - it's like it's being conveniently glossed over in my opinion...

Yes I have, unfortunately I prefer the original version, originals are 10 times better than the cover versions, unless its strikingly different.

Ok, good. It was winding me up a bit - most DJs and reviews I've seen were making it out to be a McFly original. The McFly cover hasn't actually done anything to the original. Seems a bit pointless to be honest.

Well that's good to hear they're getting some recognition for it

So much for whats his face the singer from mcfly saying they wouldnt release any more covers as singles and crticising pestlife for doing it.

Your wrong their they didn't say that

Danny said we wouldn't release an album full of covers like westlife have

he said they would release the odd cover a single or b-side

Edited by its me

Yeah, they mentioned that it was a cover today on Loose Women.
Who cares - at least Roger Manning(?) will be getting a bit of cash out of it. $h!t version tho'
I bet McFly have sent emails, txts and everything out to their fans begging them to buy the single

Most DJs on the likes of Radio 1 act like music only began when they were about 13. Therefore, a song which got to number 51 in 1991 needn't have existed as far as they are concerned.

I remember that! I didn't like it then either. Although, flicking through my old 7"s, I do seem to have a copy of 'When The King is Half Undressed'...weird.

Jellyfish had a singing drummer - that was pretty much their act.
