Posted May 9, 200718 yr Hi Everyone, Greetings from South America. I'm working on an idea for a new musical film, which has been in the pipeline for some time. As it's a new venture it's very exciting for all of the team involved. May 10, 200718 yr Author Yesterday we reported on Kylie’s South American visit, which caused an international media storm with revelations that Kylie was visiting Chile with film director Alexander Dahm, while his pregnant wife was at home in Mexico. Today, Kylie herself has spoken up, releasing a statement on her website with some news of her trip. “Greetings from South America!” said Kylie this morning. “I’m working on an idea for a new musical film, which has been in the pipeline for some time. As it’s a new venture it’s very exciting for all of the team involved. Just to whet your appetites as part of this new project, I had the pleasure of learning to tango from some of South America’s best! The post included images of Kylie with tango dancers ‘Sylvanno’ and ‘Ricardo’ from Rojo Tango in Buenos Aries, where LiMBO understands Kylie flew after her visit to Chile. No further details were released, but speculation in Kylie-land has honed in on the possibility of a movie musical with Dahm, or the prospect that Kylie is taking lessons for a planned Scissor Sisters’ movie musical project, which several band members have spoken of in the past. Scissor Sisters frontman, Jake Shears, even told The Observer in 2004, when speaking about Kylie, “Somebody needs to write the woman a damn movie musical, and if I got the go-ahead, you can bet I would be game.” Whatever the truth, if a movie musical comes to fruition, it will be the realisation of a long-standing wish expressed by Kylie to star in one, and the closest she’s come to realising it since her small-but-significant role as ‘The Green Fairy’ in Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film Moulin Rouge! In other Kylie events, or perhaps non-events, it appears the much-rumoured appearance at the Sydney leg of the Live Earth concerts will not be happening. Yesterday, at a press conference in Sydney, the line-up of the Australian show was revealed, including Crowded House, Missy Higgins, Toni Collette, Wolfmother, Sneaky Sound System and Jack Johnson – but no Kylie. There’s still some hope, however. LiMBO understands that more acts might be announced – while it’s plausible that she’ll appear at one of the other concerts scheduled around the globe. A series of concerts to be held around the world on Saturday, July 7 to promote action against global warming, Live Earth will be the world’s largest series of benefit concerts ever (eclipsing 1985’s Live Aid project), with shows in Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Hamburg, London, New York and Rio.
