May 11, 200718 yr Its always the flippin east countries that are voted for, western europe countries never do well anymore :(
May 11, 200718 yr The countries of western & northern Europe only have themselves to blame for not getting through - they were obviously not voting for each other in the way that Serbia, Latvia, Moldova etc did! Maybe next year we need a pact, otherwise the traditional countries will gradually be squeezed out. Gail http://chat1960vintage.blogspot.com
May 11, 200718 yr Wow :-0 Great show last night! Moldova has shot up my favourites list...what a sensational singer! I voted for Belarus so I'm glad it got through Not overly surprised that all Eastern countries got through...a lot of Western countries have dire songs this year...
May 11, 200718 yr For christ's sake, that was absolutely ridiculous. I think there should be two separate festivals for now on, one for Western Europe and one for Eastern Europe. No Western song qualified....not even my fave Andorra which i thought at least had a fair chance going through. Well, at least I guessed seven songs right but to be honest none of my real favorites made it through even thou few ok songs did qualify. For the final, I think Ukraine is the biggest favorite followed by Russia and Serbia. Germany is most likely to finish last (second time in three years). Spain could do surprisingly well and same goes with Finland as long as both coutries will have good shows. Maybe your taste of music doesn't match this festival. Andorras song is quite interesting, but for MTV...it just doesn't fit to Eurosong contest. Here people expect something different. <_< Also, you in western and northern countries should think about making a deal between yourselves..to choose one song and vote for it... I am from Serbia, and I have to agree that eastern and southern countries are much better organized...It could be much better if this could be case in every sphere of life :D not only in music. Also, we have very strong diaspora. They spend pretty big money to vote for us....and at least, that money goes to your telephone companies :-D which means, nobody is loosing Edited May 11, 200718 yr by ivanhoe
May 11, 200718 yr And yes, I forgot. I really don't like Ukraine entry :-( . I really like Ukraine people, but this song really sucks! Listen to the lyrics! Totally moronic.... And Turkey entry....Oh, my God! Another copy of Sakis Rouvas...or Ricky Martin....and the lyrics: "shake it up shake it in..." like Sakis:"shake, shake..." I can't believe someone can make a song with less inspiration and originality...Greek song is pretty nice, but again...shake it up...or shake it ...what ever... Edited May 11, 200718 yr by ivanhoe
May 11, 200718 yr and the result from the semi circling round the net  1st place ....... BELARUS 2nd place .......SERBIA 3rd place ........LATVIA 4th place ........BULGARIA 5th place ........HUNGARY 6th place ........SLOVENIA 7th place ........MACEDONIA 8th place ........TURKEY 9th place ........MOLDOVA 10th place ......GEORGIA 11th place...... CROATIA 12th place......ALBANIA 13th place......MONTENEGRO 14th place......CZECH REPUBLIC 15th place......POLAND 16th place......ESTONIA propoblly all wrong but well
May 11, 200718 yr We can't moan anyway about none of the Western countries qualifying tbh. The Andorran song would be big in the UK and Ireland, but really, how many Montenegrins or Belorussians are gonna listen to that type of song? Not many I don't think. The Netherlands had a good song and a good performance, but it wasn't memorable. DJ Bobo was the Kate Ryan and Selma, and the rest - Belgium, Portugal, Austria are pretty poor... You are totally right....I agree with you

May 11, 200718 yr I'm really shocked DQ for Denmark dint go through! I was certain it was perfect for eurovision and actually had it as one of my tips to win
May 11, 200718 yr I hope that's wrong - I couldn't STAND the thought of Croatia, Albania, Czech Republic and Montenegro getting so close and Malta and Norway not being anywhere near! :puke2: Croatia entry was pooooor. I heard at least 5 much much better songs from Croatia this year. Also, you could hear hundreds of false notes Albania.....good singer, but atmosphere in song is pretty tragic, I mean sad, sad, saaad... Czech Republic....I never like fake rock songs...you don't know is it rock, metal, or pop Montenegro...they scrued up our last two songs 2005 and 2006 by cheating, so they deserved not to go to Eurovision at least 5 years, to see where it's their place in music. 2005. we had fabulous song and fabulous singer and they sent "noname" with that poor song. I will never forgive that one. Malta...interesting song and singing, but to many false notes. Just to many....but song is fine I liked Netherlads song, and norway too. Both good singers, but Norway song was not very original Edited May 11, 200718 yr by ivanhoe

May 11, 200718 yr yeah Moldova rocked  and Nada my 1st vote went to Serbia :D gonna be voting on suturday too :funky: and for Bulgaria, Russia and some more maybe ^_^ I'm very happy because of that Boyan! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: And Karolina was good also. I like mixed version with some parts on English! :cheer: Montenegro...they scrued up our last two songs 2005 and 2006 by cheating, so they deserved not to go to Eurovision at least 5 years, to see where it's their place in music. 2005. we had fabulous song and fabulous singer and they sent "noname" with that poor song. I will never forgive that one. Member from Serbia! :yahoo: I agree that it's hard to forgive that...
May 11, 200718 yr I liked No Name's 2005 song! It would've finished third as well had only the finalists been voting that year.
May 11, 200718 yr I liked No Name's 2005 song! It would've finished third as well had only the finalists been voting that year. It was ok for me, but really nothing special. There were songs better then it. And that year it even was ok, compared with the next year (2006) No Name's song :puke2: .

Over here we vote for a country cause we like the song/act and not because they are our "neigbours". Belgium is right next to Holland but the act was c**p so not many people voted for it. The eastern european countries will allways vote for eachother no matter what. My suggestion would be 2 semi finals (whats up with 1 semi final anyways ??) 1 semi final for eastern europe and 1 for the rest of europe. another thing that bugs me is that the countries who are always in the finals cause they paying lots of money. they never have to qualify. even with a c**p act they are in the finals which is quite unfair in my opinion. (UK, Germany, France etc.)

(UK, Germany, France etc.) Over there they will vote for a song/act because they like it as well - these countries are in close proximity and culture, and they tend to send songs representative of their culture, therefore it would be reasonable to say they share the same music tastes. These countries don't give 12 points to the SAME country every year - don't forget there is still a lot of animosity between these countries after the Balkan Wars just over 10 eyars ago, so it's hardly political - the only surefire result is the exchange of 12s between Cyprus-Greece anyway these days -_- The 2 semi-final idea will come into action in 2009, it will be based either on time zones (western Europe and eastern Europe) or on draw. And don't forget that without the money from the Big 4 (UK, Spain, France and Germany, Italy if they ever return as well) Eurovision would not be able to be staged as the host country would foot the whole bill - not an easy task, most winners would be unable to host it. Most of the money contributed by the Big 4 would be generated by viewing figures in the respective countries - BBC in the UK etc. - and the Eurovision would not be as popular in the respective countries were the Big 4 not in the contest had they been knocked out at the semis, which would lead to a withdrawal of the money or not as much money being contributed, which would mean Eurovision wouldn't go on. It is unfair, but in effect, they do deserve it seeing as they pay for the upkeep of this wonderful contest. ^_^ And anyway, the rest of Europe gets its own back on us by omitting us from the top ten each year
May 11, 200718 yr Author love ur new siggy Tyron Thought you might  The two to replace Malta and Norway was a bit of a no-brainer TBH
May 11, 200718 yr If every country paid a fair share then we would have this situation. All countries would be equal and all had to earn a qualification. Thats my opinion anyways.
