tbh yes... they are. in general im against 'old' acts reforming . music should be youth lead, it was in the best years in music... the mid 60's and punk era (through to the new romantics), good music needs to be for that generation, a new generation with something to say, an identity. sadly commerce has got in the way and its all big business lead now. theres no identity of their own for todays youth, its just a re-hash of my generations fashion.

im not bothered how 'good' take that are (? are they?) or the spice girls, theyve had their day and todays youth require their own idols.

In 1989 I was 14, so grew up listening to alot of the hits of this year. In hindsight maybe not a good year for music. Though there was a few classics, some people have mentioned, like Sweet Child Of Mine etc. Two of my favourites from 89 though are now often forgotten but brilliant songs, both I have on vinyl

1) Gun Better Days, thier debut hit not a big hit but brilliant all the same

2) Danny Wilson Second Summer Of Love, everybody remembers thier biggest hit Marys Prayer but the follow up often forgotten, was a catchy number too, which I bought then and still love now! :)

well seeing as one of these bands is something to do with El Presidente and the other one is something to do with the slaphead out of transister and king L i think i'm gonna pass and look at nice pictures of ex-Neighbours stars from Johnny English instead

Well seeing as Mary's Prayer is one of the most sickening songs ever to hit the top ten inexplicably I think I have second summer of love on a 10" somewhere.
