It was lovely hearing about him and natasha, Darius is back and, to quote Sexy Individual, it's not just "physical". You can see he's totally at ease with himself and brimming with confidence. He's obviously excited by how rehearsals are going. It's great to see how relaxed he is without losing any grip on why he's there - to promote Guys and Dolls. He's done that brilliantly in the interviews he's given so far, without them being too much the same. Bonus too - I haven't seen the lip biting for a long long time. Bless him. He really didn't want to talk about himself and Natasha, but Phillip insisted. 3 years - doesn't time fly? Yet another new picture in the background........one with the hat pushed back on his head.
May 15, 200718 yr Author yes, it was a great picture! and yes, the lip biting, he really is so endearing. I think he does a great interview, a great promotionalist and always so knowledgable and informative about things, I watched Gene Wilder on JR and This Morning and his interview was the same for both which I found a little disppointing as I love him and think he must have so many interesting things to say, they obviously know what they want to promote and stick to a "script", it must be something quite common that you only pick up on if you watch more than one show - Darius gave quite a variation on his interview with what I heard on the BBC and I enjoyed it immensly.
May 15, 200718 yr He looks really well. As usual, better in the flesh. Atfer G & D he has no plans before the album release, as yet. He had arranged that Rachel would receive details of any promo work he does, at the same time he does. He's going to check what's happening. He was really upset when he heard that we hadn't heard. The pics didn't turn out well. He was running late and they sent someone down to drag him along. I don't think either of us realised how quickly he'd be on. I'd lent my camera to someone. I checked the settings before I left and they seemed fine. What I didn't realise was that they'd adjusted the eye peice and jammed the focus knob. There was also a stick finger print on the lens, My camera stays with me in future. He really looked well and very happy, the best I've seen him for a few years. You can't really worry about him when he's that good. I think most of us knew that if he did G&D the album would be put back. The awful thing is, it just fills me with dread. It sounds like the kind of music I really don't like. I just hope everyone else likes it and it does well. It's his life, not mine, so as long as he's happy with it and he really seems to be. I loved the intervies. Being stupid, I just sat there goig aww. I can't wait for the dancing now, either. May 15, 200718 yr He did. Tanned, tall and really happy and relaxed. He just doesn't photograph as well. He's a kind, considerate man. I still quite like him.
May 15, 200718 yr Author I try to be casual, but when I saw him on TV, that feeling came back, he did look so happy it shone out fo him.. he is better than any rejuvinating cream, I feel like a flushed teenager and am back to rewatching the video. I have a feeling I will love the new music, if it is like his other work in being sound well crafted songs with meaning, even if jazz isnt really my thing - I do love his voice doing swing or classic standards so it will be interesting to see what he is coming up with.
May 15, 200718 yr It was 'Devil In You' that started me worrying. I just hope they are not like that one. His voice is great in it, it's the song i can't stand.
