yes, I do like the song, but to me Jazz always sounds forced, I would prefer his songs to be more natural, they would still be classics, just not regimented into a style. but Norah Jones isnt any style is it? just songs(although they bore me, she only had the one good one). it will be exciting hearing them for the first time...I do hope it is early 2008

Is Gene Wilder promoting something in particular because sometimes interviews connected with new films or Tv shows are very tightly controlled either led by the interviewee sticking to some clear "lines" and/or by the interviewer's questions being vetted beforehand.

Tbh I'm pretty sure some of that went on when Darius was with Mercury. There was always a promotion guy watching him from behind the scenes.

I dont know, lol..he has a new book, my french whore, which he told the same story both times, and about his two rows with mel Brooks over a musical version of young frankinstein..so perhaps it was promo for those two things.

I have noticed it does seem quite regimented in many cases, not just Darius. I think being fans and watching al the interviews makes it more obvious what is repeated .

I think Darius does a great job of getting the promotion in, he really bigged Guys and Dolls up on the BBc and today and not just about him being in it

He did. Tanned, tall and really happy and relaxed. He just doesn't photograph as well. He's a kind, considerate man. I still quite like him.

Thanks for being there to take these lovely pictures, megham.

I'm disappointed that Darius has ruled out releasing the album this year but I think I more or less anticipated it as soon as I heard he was doing the G & D tour.

I honestly do not think he has any intentions of writing an album of DIYs but he doesn't want his fans expecting a 'pop' album, perhaps because he is aware of his more adult responsibilities and feels his music must have substance and reflect that. In saying that, I have always thought that a lot of D's apparently happy 'pop' songs have lyrics which can be interpreted in many ways and which touch me, anyway, on a more emotional level than most songs of that genre.

I love Amy Winehouse's current album, so I'd be happier with him going that way. It is only what he wants to do that counts and I wouldn't want it any other way. I can still worry though.

Sounds like you had a treat this morning. Very nice pictures. He still looks very young and handsome doesn't he.

2008 is not that far away now

He may look young but he seems to have matured a lot.

I'm pleased you found Darius this time, Meg, after last time's disastrous attempt.

I'm always more aware that he is still quite young when his hair is natural looking and he's clean shaven.

It's hard to believe that although Darius seems to have been around for so long, he's still younger than several of the "Josephs". It's amazing that with barely any change other than cutting and gelling down his hair, with a bit of gravitas in his manner and without the help of make-up, he was totally believable as a man ten years older in Chicago but, his height not withstanding, he too could easily be Joseph.

It will be interesting to see if Darius can pull off the older, mature guy illusion again. He has to play Sky as well-mannered and smooth like BF but also laid back and romantic.

hopefully he will pull that off, watching the clip they had of Marlon Brando on this morning singing Luck be a Lady, I thought Darius could do this very well. that charisma and stage presence

Maybe the producer/director etc. already see something of that in him.

It's interesting that his light suit is similar to the one Brando wore in the film whereas until now, the beige suit worn by the other Skys is more in keeping with those of the other gangsters. They could just have got him a straight copy of it. I'm so glad it's gone although Darius no doubt would have made it look a lot better.

I had a quick look through youtube clips last night and I can't find the handstand anywhere.

There's quite a long clip from the Havana scene with Ewan McGregor. It includes the part where he lifts up the girl in the red dress but he just puts her down and goes into the dance again. He doesn't lay her down on the ground. It looks quite awkward because the girl is taller than Ewan and she looks like she's hanging on with all her might instead of him supporting her.

BTW after his bike ride challenge, Ewan will be working again with the producer of Guys and Dolls, Michael Grandage at the Donmar, where I believe he is (artistic director ?) The play Ewan's in, runs from early December. I'll edit when I remember the name.

what the??! that is completely misfitting what darius said all together, rather like taking an audio tape and snipping out words in between bits to make something completely different, I think to the Parkiinson advert where bits are cobbled to gether.

I have to chuckle thinking about Ewan,

perhaps Ewan wasnt up to it..I am sure they change the dances to suit the performers ability, so it will be interesting to see if darius does the handstands!!

He/she makes it sound all sinister. Darius as a baddie........ orchestrating the brainwashing of Natasha's 2 sons, keeping his own hands clean as any good Godfather would, and getting a junior member of his "family" to do all the dirty work.

One embellishment I wouldn't mind being true, is the bit about playing in New York this summer. That would be worth putting the album on hold for!

Oh, teletext saw the 'This Morning' interview, got it wrong, and misplelt his brothers name. Still it's not bad going for teletext.

I found it online. Does anyone know if it was on the teletext service, in that form?

Is teletext BBC or ITV ? I'm never sure. There's a ceefax too, or at least there used to be.

Where am I supposed to be looking. It says page not available. Regarding ewan mcgregor, I see on WOS that he is going to be in Othello direct by michael grandage who also directed him in guys and dolls and is also director for guys and dolls with Darius. Interesting.
That's what I found too ......page not available. What did it say?

Must have been today's page which has now been updated. Gone!

I can't even remember exactly what was said myself........ but it bore no resemblance to what Darius actually said on This Morning - an interview in which I thought he came over very well in general and extremely mature when talking about his relationship with Natasha and her 2 boys (with a brief mention of Cyrus, with a C not an S).
