May 12, 200718 yr Author 1960s Pop star Sandie Shaw had ceased recording in 1972 and was in retirement when Morrissey came on a knocking one day to her home in Dagenham late in 1983 (where she had qualified as a Beauty Therapist). After some reluctance Sandie was persuaded to record with The Smiths covers of the Morrissey & Marr compositions 'I Don't Owe You Anything', 'Jeane' & 'Hand In Glove'.
