Posted May 13, 200718 yr d_vN9wYIuCc So it did happen. I am really looking forward to this album because I imagine that it's quite un commercial, which'll be nice to hear.
May 13, 200718 yr oh my god :o She well didn't want to say it but obv thought i don't care and said it ! well, ALOT of people are going to buy.. even if it is $h!t.. i hope that it sells HUGE sales in it's first week in the uk and usa.. i'm hoping that the album hits number one on both sides of the atlantic.. i think it is possible.. and when it sells loads, i hope she moves record labels :P
May 13, 200718 yr This really makes me want to listen to it, by the sounds of it, its fairly un-commercial
May 13, 200718 yr ooo so it is true! :o A congrats to Kelly though, standing up to one of the biggest record producers of the moment! :o
May 13, 200718 yr I just hope that the record does well, because otherwise Mr. Davies will be Mr.Smug... and I already dislike some of his opinions as it is!
May 13, 200718 yr Author Only a ballad will save this album. It will sell a lot on it's first week but drop quickly unless there is a mega ballad on there. I am pretty sure that none of the uptempo tracks will help this album, otherwise one of them would've been released instead of Never Again. I heard a while ago that Kelly doesn't like her current label and that she has been saving some of the best songs she wrote for a future album, when she will be on a better label.

May 14, 200718 yr God she looks different, she looks like when she first won American Idol and she looks like she has gained a few chins aswell  So are they keeping the album that Clive Davis thought was $h!t or are they changing a few of the songs or something. I must admit i realy dont like the new single, her last album's singles were great, although maybe she has a killer 2nd song and is just saving it.
May 14, 200718 yr I respect her a lot more for this. I mean, why should she throw away all that hard work she put into it just because of one guy's opinion? Go Kelly. :cheer:
May 15, 200718 yr Author Another interview where she talks about the troubles with the album: http://usatoday.feedroom.com/index.jsp?fr_...4506&rf=rss The record company didn't want MI as the first single and tey didn't let her put Because Of you on Thankful and she struggled to get it on Breakaway.
May 15, 200718 yr But rumour has it Kelly didn't want to record Since U Been Gone either, i wish they'd find a middle ground
May 15, 200718 yr Based on her record companies opinions in the past, I trust Kelly for this album to be atleast "good".
May 15, 200718 yr Author I have a feeling it will be like Oral Fixation 2, great album but no radio friendly songs on it.
May 16, 200718 yr Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she refused to record leftover songs for her new album. The 'Since U Been Gone' singer was forced to assemble her own writing team for the album after her record company tried to persuade her to record a track that had already appeared on a Lindsay Lohan album. She releases My December, the follow-up to her ten-million selling 2004 LP Breakaway, on June 25. She told MTV: "I just don't like working with someone that gives you a song and is like, 'Oh, I wrote this for you.' But you find out that they've given it to every other artist and they turned it down, you know? "My label literally sent me a Lindsay Lohan track from her last album and wanted me to record it for my new album. And while I like Lindsay Lohan...it's already been on an album. "They were just sending me stuff that was almost insulting. I'm like, 'You can't even find new songs? You don't want me to write my album but you're sending me hand me downs?' So, I ended up writing the entire thing with the people that I write well with." Source: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a46675/c...over-songs.html If I didn't have an album out now and a huge tour coming up, I'd leave the record company
May 16, 200718 yr I really do respect her so much more for standing on her own two feet and saying no to record exec's who want their own way.
May 17, 200718 yr SIMON COWELL: ''Kelly is not a puppet; she does not like to be told what to do. She could have gone the easy route, which is, you go with ['Since U Been Gone' producer] Max Martin — it's a guaranteed success. She made it absolutely clear that she wanted to steer the musical direction on this record. You just gotta say, 'You know what? This girl has given us millions and millions of sales.' You've got to give her that opportunity. If it works out, fantastic. If she then decides she wants to do a pop album, every good writer and producer wants to work with her. Because Kelly will be here for 30 years. She has one of the best pop voices in the world right now. What she sold in the U.K., Europe, Asia had nothing to do with American Idol. It had everything to do with the fact that she made a great record and she's got an incredible voice. She's not a girl who got lucky in a talent competition; we got lucky to find her.''
