May 13, 200718 yr Author 40.DON'T LET ME BE THE LAST TO KNOW This track was written by country/pop legend, Shania Twain...and it is not surprising at all because it is very easy to hear the underlining country influence in the background layer of the production. Though it is a great song by the magnificent Britney, it was not at all single worthy, especially since the Oops...I Did It Again album was filled to the rim with much more commercial tracks such as Don't Go Knockin' On My Door, What You See Is What You Get, Where Are You Now, & Can't Make You Love Me. But, all in all it is still a very good song, but there are 39 songs by Britney that are better then this track in my opinion.
May 13, 200718 yr Author 39.Shadow This song is really a great ballad, and one of the few that can be found on Britney's electronic/sexual album, In The Zone. I think that if this song had been worked on a little bit more with the production it could have been up there with Everytime, but the computer beats that are present in the track leave a bad taste in your mouth...but not too much because it is still a great song and the lyrics are amazing, also a very good vocal by Britney. May 13, 200718 yr Author 38. I've Just Begun Having My Fun From here on out there is no Britney song that is just not phenonmenal for me, and could without a doubt reach number one on my personal chart for multiple weeks. This song was a track stuck on Britney's Greatest Hit's album, along with Do Somethin', and My Prerogative. This track reminds me alot of Prince for some reason, which is cool but still a little bit too experimental for me. The chorus is amazing but the verses leave something to be desired. I do like the route that she took with this song though. Edited May 13, 200718 yr by Tyler
May 13, 200718 yr Author 37.The Joy Of Pepsi How could this song NOT be in my top 40, lol. Britney is the only girl that could have made the "Ba Da Ba Ba Ba" a trademark selling point for the Pepsi Cola Company. This song has the infectious pop sound that all of Britney's earlier music contains, and the song is known by millions because of the worldwide commercial campaign that launched Britney Spears as one of the world's biggest brand names. With a cheeky smile and the catchy saying "For Those Who Think Young", Britney let the world know that drinking pepsi was the way to go. Edited May 13, 200718 yr by Tyler
May 13, 200718 yr Interesting this... I think "Shadow" should be higher but it's your chart anyways :P And I would've never in the world included "The Joy Of Pepsi" but each to their own. I think "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" would've sounded miles better if Shania sang it herself, but Britney makes a great job with it as well and I agree it's quite underrated.
May 13, 200718 yr Author 36.She'll Never Be Me This is an unreleased track that is thought to have been recorded in the Oops era. This song is very catchy and in my opinion deserved to be on the albums final tracklisting. With a slight hip-hop sound added to her bubblegum pop image, this song showed Britney's slow change of music style.
May 13, 200718 yr Author And I would've never in the world included "The Joy Of Pepsi" but each to their own. The song is 2 minutes and 30 seconds long, I have it on my ipod as well...so MEH -_-
May 13, 200718 yr Author 35.I Can't Get No (Satisfaction) Another song from the Oops era, Britney covers the rock classic, but makes it her own with a pop/dance production and talking about the tightness of her skirt. This was a great cover and I loved it from the moment I heard it, but many people hate that she covered it...but you can't please everyone when people have $h!t music tastes! Go Britney because I think it is AMAZING. :D
May 13, 200718 yr Author 34.Chaotic This track is one of the latest from Miss Britney. As Britney does something resembling a rap in the verses a quirky beat in the background sets off a party vibe, that is awesome to listen to while driving in your car with the windows down...trust me I know. This song was used as the theme song for Britney's 2005 reality show, simply titled Chaotic...showing the lovely Ms. Spears and ASS WIPE, Kevin Federline. Edited May 13, 200718 yr by Tyler
May 15, 200718 yr Author 33.What You See Is What You Get In this track taken from Britney's sophomore album "Oops...I Did It Again", she addresses the issue of people expecting more then what is offered in a relationship. Though the song may sound very teen pop in it's production, the lyrics aren't as elementry as you would expect. But as we all expected Miss Spears plugged in more then enough catchy hooks to make the song ace.
May 15, 200718 yr Author 32.Mona Lisa (Raw Unedited Version) This track had alot of controversy around it especially when she showed up at an LA radio station unexpectedly to play a song that she had recorded while touring for The Onyx Hotel Tour. This song, in my opinion, shows how good Britney's production skills are and it shows that Britney actually has a very nice singing voice. But then Jive had to go and pro tool every square inch of the track, changing Britney's voice and the once good production. Bad move Jive. Edited May 15, 200718 yr by Tyler
May 15, 200718 yr Author 31.Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman Another more adult song by Britney makes it way into my top 40 at number 31. This song showed critics that Britney's music really had grown up alot in comparison to her younger ballads such as E-mail my heart, lol. This song is good in my opinion because it sounds natural and not over produced like alot of the ballads made today. Edited May 15, 200718 yr by Tyler
May 15, 200718 yr Author 30.Let Me Be Kicking off the top 30, is another great track on Britney's third album, "Britney". This track talks about the stress of being in the public eye and was a very mature track considering her persona at the time. With a Asian flavored beat and a mid-tempo flow, Britney strikes a chord with this great song...which probably could have done well as a single!
