Posted April 20, 200619 yr The background is that Joey is a big fan of 3IOB and actually wanted to produce Advance And Vanquish before. He also toured with them when they played with Satyricon (Joey was filling in on drums for Satyricon). So now he's just been working with them on the new album demos. The blurb from A/R (Mike Gitter) is that: The demos are clearly a kick in the ass to anything 3IOB have done to date. Thrashier, angrier and heavier than prior 3IOB-works - think classic Metallica, old school Kreator, and that old reliable standbye: Judas Priest's Painkiller, all rolled up into one. And, if anything, the trademark, trade-off screams, air-raid melodies and caustic catterwhauls of spectacularly bearded Viking Cam Pipes and his co-hort in vocal terrorism, Jamie Hooper, have only grown more intense. The demos - which were recorded in Seattle and engineered by none other than one Jack Endino (the mid-wife of grunge, having recorded the likes of Nirvana and Soundgarden waaay back in the day) - also are the first recording by the 3" touring line-up of bassist Brian Redman, guitarists Shane Clarke and Justin Hagberg, and drummer Alexei Rodriguez. A pretty major change for sure, but, if anything, it's only stepped things up. [Roadrunner] have a handful of song titles so far they are: "Night Marauders" "Goatriders' Horde" "Assassins of the Light" "Black Spire" Joey has also signed up to produce the next 3IOB record to be recorded in early Autumn." 3 Inches Of Blood are a well kept secret, but with this new lease of life and artistic injection the boys will no doubt rise to the fame they deserve.
