Posted May 14, 200718 yr Don't know if anybody saw that Panorama shw thats just been on with John Sweeney about the Church Of Scientology. Probs if you watched it you'd rather invite Hitler or Hannibal Lecter to tea rather than that Scientology dude on the show Tommy Davis. At first on the show he might have seen like a bad spoof of Tom Cruise doing some kinda bad management speak but by the end of the show he was generally unnerving like some kind of brainwashing Scientology-dalek (but the other way round to Spike Milligan's Pakistani accented Daleks from the C4 Hitler Comedy Show the other night if you get what i mean???) crossed with the stasi ('The Lives of Others'). so L Ron Hubbard's Scientology! Cult or Church??? whadda say???
May 14, 200718 yr How many famous Scientologists are there apart from Tom Cruise? John Travolta, Juliette Lewis, Kirsty Ally etc probably some more as well. Fasinating documentry though.
May 14, 200718 yr Author John Travolta, Juliette Lewis, Kirsty Ally etc probably some more as well. yeah loads and some keep it quite quiet in comparison to Cruise and Travolta.
May 14, 200718 yr Yes I saw it. Surely by watching the doc, people won't to be apart of scientology after seeing that stalker guy Tomy. Interesting show and that reporter handled it well! This "cult" is brainwashing people. It won't benefit anyone or change anyone's life for the best. Did the other celebrities want out of scientology when they found out what they were trying to do?
May 14, 200718 yr These people are fukkin' dangerous... In their own way they are as dangerous as Jim Jones, David Koresh and Charles Manson. Scientology is a CULT, it is a brainwashing, completely irrational sect which brooks no opposition and anyone who dares to utter even the slightest of criticism gets lawyers sent after them... Did you know that John Travolta actually personally complained to the BBC about the Panorama prog...? The Scientologists complained that the programme was "biased", but they themselves refused BBC permission to air interviews with Kirsty Alley, Anne Archer and others to put the other side of the story, so they shot themselves in the foot there if you ask me...
May 14, 200718 yr Lol. You should watch the full programme, mate to get the real context... I dont blame the guy for losing his cool, he was followed, harrassed and intimidated by these b/astards until he just couldn't stand any more.... I'm so glad that we in this country are smart enough to refuse to allow Scientology the status of a Religion... It is not a Religion, it is a dangerous, brainwashing cult based upon the drug-induced ravings of an utter madman.... Not to mention a monumentally c**p writer (anyone actually tried reading any of Hubbard's work..? JESUS, what an utter pile of toss...). Sigmund Freud has more credibility than L Ron Hubbard.... Their use of Holocaust imagery to attack Psychology was disgusting, and frankly if I'd've been at that "show" of theirs I would've gone absolutely mental myself at these fukkin' crypto-fascist morons.... <_< They compare Psychology to Nazism, what absolute c**p!! Hitler had the works of Freud banned I do believe because he was Jewish..... So, the Jewish father of Psychology and Psychoanalysis is somehow a Nazi is he....??   Oh, my aching fukkin' sides...... The only reason Jung endorsed Mein Kampf was because he and the other Jewish practitioners of Psychology and Psychoanalysis would more than likely would have been rounded up and shot by the fukkin' Gestapo if they hadn't. Jung actually fled Nazi Germany in '43 to work with the OSS.... Jesus fukkin' Christ what a spectacular FAILURE by these "Scientologists" to understand basic Historical facts...... <_< <_<
May 15, 200718 yr Cult. Any type of organisation that forces women to go through child labour without pain relief and made to do it in complete silence is clearly unbalanced in my book.
May 15, 200718 yr what made me laugh was when the frankly downright menacing leader of the cult followed the reporter to the meeting he had with the guy who 'breaks' cults, the guy who was gay... The leader ranted to the reporter that he was a bigot.... then proceeded to call the gay guy a 'sexual pervert' I suggest boycotting ALL productions starring these whackos. Juliette Lewis, Travolta, Cruise, Kirsty Ally... all of them. IMO all religion is unhealthy - and all religions are pretty much 'cults'... but some, like this one, are far more dangerous than others.
May 15, 200718 yr i didnt see the prog, nor do i know anything about it... from the bits ive heard though it sounds just like yet another whackos take on life....

But, I am still gonna keep my 2-disc DVD of "Pulp Fiction" though.....

May 17, 200718 yr Author You should mate, it's available to watch on the BBC Panorama website.... There is something seriously sinister about these people..... yeah man you gotta see that programme. they might have been talk about panarama being dumbed down* and made more trivial to attract viewers but this is one report to watch *and anyway its not like its a show on a spaghetti tree harvest

May 20, 200718 yr ive always thought of scientology as a cult and after watching that BBC doco i just couldnt stop laughing at scientology so i voted for cult
May 27, 200718 yr I think Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee, the blokes from My Name Is Earl are scientologists. Ethan Suplee is married to Juliette Lewis' sister as well. I also heard that Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) is one too. I can't believe so many people follow seem to be a part of the cult of scientology, although most of them seem to be celebrities, and lets face it, the inhabitants of Hollywood and Los Angeles in general have a bit of a reputation for living in cloud cuckoo land. But scientology really takes the biscuit. It is absolute nonsense and is an obvious scam. Seems perfect for people with more money than sense. South Park did quite a good episode on scientology, which apparently prompted Issac Hayes to quit the show, and in turn prompted Trey Parker and Matt Stone to give his character Chef a humiliating death. I have no sympathy for Hayes if that is the case as South Park makes fun of everything, and scientology is definitely open for ridicule.
