Well this Will fan doesn't :blink: I think AOMS is much better than Changes, and with it getting better airplay I hope it does well.

 

I wouldn't want any artist to fail, that's just spiteful. It's so difficult in this business as it is :cry:

I'm sure you really believe that, but its easy to see who is genuinely wishing Gareth well and who is not. I personally know a few people who are fans of Will who are really hoping Gareth will have success :)

Nosey may know differently, but I think that clip was put up by a fan, so perhaps Gareth's team have removed it, for promotional reasons.

 

 

 

Don't worry truely talented, we know there are always some, and we wont hold it against the majority of Wills fans who dont think that.

 

 

I heard Gareth sing Cars this morning on Heart, and have to say his vocals were fantastic, the DJ really loved it and thought it was the best he heard in a long time. Its nice to hear nice things said from Djs for a change. :yahoo:

I don't know why the official site hasn't put it up on YouTube yet though. They normally move pretty quickly.

 

 

 

I heard Drive too (listening through the Internet). It was gorgeous.

saw the video today, its nice and the song is ok, nothign special tho he needs to release something he is going to get noticed more.

I caught Heart doing these covers, I actually thought gareth did a great job, one of the better ones imo

 

 

Angel on my shoulder is a lovely song, the first time I heard it I had no idea it was gareth,(it definately put me in mind of darren Hayes though, vocaly and song wise, and darren does some lovely songs, so no negative there) - if it does well is another matter, I don't see selling equalling a good song, its down to fashion and promo. gareth I am sure is proud of this song, well written and from the heart.

Did he stick to the original format or put his own stamp on the song? Something I personally see as very important when someone covers another artist's song.

 

As for AOMS it's an improvement on Changes. His fans seem to love it & a lot of non fans seem to think it's a nice song but I'm not sure it's strong enough to ignite the public's interest to make them want to invest in his album. :unsure: Time will tell.

It seemed quite different to me. Different tempo and different feel...though I'm not too sure how to describe the differnce, on one listen. It had a lovely piano accompaniment too - which I assume was Gareth playing, though obviously I don't know that for sure

I've just read on Will's boards the dj bigging this up is Ed James. Now there's a surprise. :lol: Not sure campaigning to have Gareth release this cover (no matter how good he thinks it is) would be a wise move for Gareth's career. A B side maybe yes.

Do his fans think it's a good career move?

Big up Gareth and spew forth your bile for Will - how novel. It's nice he's supporting Gareth but I wouldn't put too much store by his 'support'. The man's got an agenda in his puerile mind he's carrying on the Will/Gareth thing. Flamebait.. :lol:

 

I wish Gareth luck with this new one - hope it's received better and by people who genuinely care.

If you have a problem with what this DJ has or hasn't said about Will, perhaps you could discuss it in Will's forum and leave this thread for us to discuss Gareth's new single and other things Gareth :)

Haven't heard it (don't get much of chance to listen to the radio during the week), but as far as releasing it goes, could be a b-side! Other's have been known to put songs that were supposed to be one-off covers on b-sides of singles. I'm thinking Natasha B and Will, for instance.

I didn't think about if Gareth put his own stamp on it or not - just if I enjoyed it? And I did. It is blooming fantastic :cheer:

Oh and that it is all in relation to celebrating UK artists. About time too!!

I think Darren is a fantastic singer, songwriter and showman, so it's a happy comparison for me, although if a comparison were to be made, Angel on My Shoulder puts me in mind of George Michael, particularly with the vocals and even more so on the acoustic versions we've heard. On the other hand, the title track to Gareth's album, Pictures of the Other Side is much more Darren.

 

This is a performance he did of that at an awards ceremony.

 

 

I'm sorry the other one isn't working any more. It wasn't official, just something made by one of the German fans.
