Its now 43 on iTunes [The Album]

 

Thanks Simon. How significant is this to the overall chart on Sunday, do you know?

Have there been any proper album reviews in the papers?

 

I've not come across any - but I don't see many newspapers.

 

 

This is the performance Gareth gave at Manchester yesterday of Pictures Of The Other Side. He's got a very bad sore throat at the moment and is dosing himself up with Honey & Lemon with a touch of whisky.

 

 

Must say he does look a bit flushed :heart:

He's been floating between 25 and 30 on the iTunes album chart for the past couple of days. Although I don't expect Gareth's album to hold its chart position all that well, I do think it's very promising that his iTunes position is much better than it ever was for the singles, and not that much lower than the physical. I know this is helped with there being a link on the front page, but it shows there is interest beyond the core fan-base.

Is it Itunes that are giving the cover Drive as an extra?

They do, but so do 7digital and Tescos site. :yahoo:

And its brilliant, I love it.

Bit disappointed Gareth couldn't manage to stay top 20 yesterday, but I'm not really too surprised, bearing in mind the lack of airplay and exposure on the video channels.

 

Just thought I'd post a couple of live performances of other tracks from the album in case anyone's interested in giving them a listen. They may surprise a few people.

it would have been nice if he stayed to p20 in the album but the album done alot better than i expected i didnt think oit would make the top 40 originally

male artist are having a difficult time at the moment - bands and ruddy comeback's are the 'in' thing. I think GG is likely to get axed I'm afraid after such poor sales and massive expensive TV exposure, although the radio stations ignopring his music is sheer pettiness.

I think they will. Both Gareth and 19 have made it very clear over the last few months, that they know its going to take a while to change people's pre-conceived perceptions of Gareth.

 

He didn't do brilliantly, but he didn't do as badly as one or two very high-standing artists did either. Its just a base to build on IMO. We'll just have to wait and see. He's released the tracks which were the gradual move away from his older material, now I think we'll get the completely new Gareth on the next single.

 

Moving slightly away from yesterday's chart, I saw him perform live on Saturday to a very large crowd, who I have to say were very impressed with what they heard. Full marks to him, too, he'd been suffering with a bad throat all last week, but managed to carry on with his signings :wub:

I throught Gareth's label would think the same at 19 that it take time for Gareth to get back to where he was? they can't expect him to come back from where he left off.I hope Gareth's ok?
