im surprised there isnt a topic on this already :o . it is totally disgusting that just because he is part of "the royal family" he isnt allowed to go to war. im sorry but that is just plain bull. no one deserves to go to war but how does becoming part of the royal family make it any different?!

what are your views on this?

I suppose on balance it is the right decision on the grounds that it will put his colleagues in more danger, couldn't give a toss about Harry tbh but there has been enough young men coming home in coffins without adding to them

It has indeed been discussed at length Joao Filipe.

I am not sure if there should be another discussion on this really. I do have to say though that I do not agree with your comment and I would like to know why you feel its disgusting. If anything your thoughts offend me especially as you may not live in the UK.

Sorry but thats how I feel. Prince Harry is NOT like the rank and file, he would have been targeted or kidnapped to be used against our Country to cause the maximum humilation. Our Royality are our figureheads, the Queen unites this country when its needed, be it a celebration of her Coronation, or something else. Harry is part of that family, and he will always have the high profile that brings. I care about Prince Harry, because I care about my Country because I am proud of it.

It was too big a risk, too big for this Government to be held responsible for, its bad enough that they are responsible for the loss of life of sons and daughters already.

It wasn't his choice, but it was a decision made on the fact that his safety could not be guaranteed. How is that disgusting may I ask.

i'm glad he isn't.

i think if he was allowed, then the enemies will see it as an even bigger challenge to defeat our country because not only will they get the glory of defeating us, they'll also get the glory of defeating one of our own from the Royal family.

he's too much of a liability.

It is seems a total waste for him to go through all the military training to be told he can't go, although there are reasonable explanations from both sides to the debate. Personally id rather see him something with his skills, wether it be on the frontline or not.

this whole story is nothing but a PR exercise.... unpoular wayward Royal who desperately needs some UK public love.... poor little Harry, having his 'career' taken away from him.

Bollox... there was never, ever ANY intention of sending him into ANY war zone nevermind Iraq....

100% FULL TRUTH now that I have time to think about it..... There was no problem with his Uncle Andy flying his chopper in the Falklands, a stray Argie Exocet could so easily have sent him crashing into the ocean in tiny bits, so why all the concern over Harry....? It does absolutely stink of PR tbh....

Sorry Susie, but you are dead wrong, Joao is perfectly entitled to his opinion, whether or not he is a UK citizen.... I think what he, and I as a point of fact, finds "disgusting" is the fact that there is the implication that HRH Harry-boy is somehow more important than his army buddies, like HIS life is worth more than the lives already wasted in this stupid, fukked-up, piece of sh!t war... Just you go ahead and try to explain to a mother or father who has lost a child or to a brother or sister who has lost a sibling just why the hell HRH Harry fukkin' Windsor should be shielded from doing his duty for GRAN and Country when their loved ones were coming home in body bags all for the fukkin' glory of Tony B-Liar's "Legacy".... <_< <_< It is NOT a good enough reason to say that he'll be targeted, seeing as how just about EVERY sodding British soldier out there has a bloody, great target painted on his or her chest anyway....

Bring our soldiers, ALL our soldiers, home, NOT just Harry HRH......

And besides, he's a bloody Career Soldier.... Just where is it you're gonna send him to then...? A nice cushy post in "holiday camp" base in Germany, shuffling paper clips.....?

I find it bizarre and extremely insulting that Susie thinks Joao doesn't have the right to an opinion because he's not British... puhhhhlease..... :o

Exactly, considering the way the British Press have been rubbishing Portuguese Police methods over the past couple of weeks, and otherwise implying that Portugal is some sort of backwater state instead of being an equal partner in the EU, I reckon it's a bit ruddy cheeky tbh.....

And look at the amount of times we've slagged off America, it's President and Americans themselves on this very site... I've yet to see the likes of Tyler say to us, "you've no right to comment on our Political system or our President....".

Well I thought it was ridiculous, but on the news they emphasised "he's not allowed to go because he would be putting others in danger because he was the Prince" it's nothing to do with his own safety at all now is it....

It's absolute bollocks Kelly, are we honestly expected to believe that this Govt actually gives a tuppenny damn about the safety of the average British Soldier out there in Iraq....? Well, erm, if they did then howabout..... GIVING OUR GUYS THE PROPER FUKKIN' EQUIPMENT for a start, and...... STUFF THAT ACTUALLY SODDING WELL WORKS!!!!!   Oh, and lastly how about..... GETTING THEM OUT OF THE UTTER HELLHOLE THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SENT INTO IN THE FIRST FUKKIN' PLACE!!!!?????

Yeah, our Govt cares a lot about "our boys"...... <_<

Hey i'm with you. ^_^

Fair enough they "thought" they had nuclear weapons (George Bush's personal vendetta) okay that's FINE, however for the life of me I don't understand WTF our troops are still doing there? What possible good is it doing Iraq OR our troops, they're not actually doing anything, they're "keeping the peace" well i'm sure Iraq has their OWN forces to do that, by keeping our troops there we are only going to lose even MORE innocent lives. Completely beyond me.

Well, Kelz, I actually don't believe for a minute that they didn't know all along that Saddam had no WMD capabilities... The Govt sent British troops into a theatre of war with possible chemical warfare without proper Bio Haz-Mat suits or chemical warfare suits.... So, we have to ask ourselves, just what the hell they were thinking...? Did they want thousands of troops to be massacred in an assault that would make The bloody Somme seem like a wise tactical decision, or did they know damn fine that Saddam had no capability of delivering a chemical weapons attack...? I rather suspect the latter.... Either way, they are a bunch of evil, cynical, lying c/unts..... <_<

And you are quite correct, neither our nor the American troops' presence is doing a damn thing but exacerbate the problems that exist in the country.... A Civil War is inevitable, all we are doing is delaying it.... As harsh as it may seem, I think we have to just let it happen to clear the air once and for all.. It'll be damn hard for us to just sit and watch a country tear itself apart, but at the end of the day, WE removed that country's only stabilising influence.... Yes, he was a bad, mass-murdering b/astard, but I reckon things are actually a LOT worse now for ordinary Iraqis than they were.... The country WILL split into three parts just like Yugoslavia did, we will have - a Shia State, a Sunni State and a Kurdistan in the north.... It HAS to happen now, because we precipitated the conditions for it to happen....

THIS is Blair's "Legacy"......

tbh i thought he might be allowed to go.... after all if he was killed itd be a honorable solution to the royal bstrd who clearly ISNT charlses!!!

Oooh, mate, and you called me and Russ nasty buggers for wanting to celebrate Thatch's death....

Can't say you're wrong though.... Actually, I'm rather hoping more that he and Hewitt would be kidnapped by Jihadis and have samples of blood taken for DNA analysis....  Then it could be proven beyond doubt, DNA don't lie, how embarrassing would that be for the establishment..... ? :P

when he's a walking double of Hewitt... do we really need DNA?
