Rock/Metal ballads have produced some great songs down the years and was of course a great way for some of those bands to 'cross over' into the mainstream. Whitesnake did it with 'Is This Love', Foreigner with 'Waiting For A Girl Like You, Alice Cooper with 'Poison, Billy Idol with 'White Wedding' to name but a few.

These days of course 'aor ballads' are usually performed by boybands such as Backstreet Boys

hmm.... im in 2 minds tbh... ok, some are pretty good easy listening good time tracks... but they are rather naff, cheesy, and pretty boring.

Some are worth saving for sure... Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again", Heart's "Alone" and "These Dreams" are bloody great songs which I will NOT have a word said against.... Alice Cooper's "Poison" I think someone has mentioned as well.... And, well I got a soft spot for T'Pau's "China In Your Hand" and loads of Stevie Nicks and Lita Ford as well. So sorry, but I really got a soft spot for those "80s Rock Chicks"

So, yes, some "Soft Rock" is worth saving, especially when it's the "Rock Chicks" like Carol, Lita, Stevie and the Wilson sisters (Heart) doing it...

Agree there, all great acts.

I like 80s power ballads and those you mention are classics!

My fav Lita Ford track is Kiss Me Deadly. Awesome song, she also did a duet with Ozzy Osbourne 'Close My Eyes Forever'.

And 'Alone' is just a classic track by Heart, in fact that whole album 'Bad Animals' is awesome!
