Morrissey blasts Moss "Kate Moss has just dragged him down to her level," he said of the supermodel with whom Doherty has an on-off relationship. The famously miserable Morrissey has given a sniping interview in which his other targets include Tony and Cherie Blair, Posh and Becks, Jordan, The Brits, Keith Richards, Eric Cantona, the Royal Family and his former bandmates in The Smiths. Dismissing the possibility of a Smiths reunion, he said: "I would rather eat my own testicles than reform The Smiths, and that's saying something for a vegetarian." The 46-year-old singer was speaking to Uncut magazine. He said of crack addict Doherty: "I think it is unfortunate that he is more associated with the media and the press and hoo ha and the silliness than he is with music. It's a terrible trap and he's jumped straight into it. "And Kate Moss has just dragged him down to her level. I don't honestly have an opinion on him. I don't care." On the Brit Awards - which saw him nominated for best male artist last year - the singer sneered: "The Brits are ghastly and there has never been a time when they haven't got it wrong. "For me to ever accept a Brit, well, I never would. It would be like Laurence Olivier being happy getting a TV Times award." The former Smiths frontman doesn't much like the look of the Prime Minister and his wife. "I don't like his face, I don't like his expression. I don't think anybody else does. And I can't stand Cherie Blair's face, I just wonder if there can ever be a photograph of her where she has her mouth shut," he said. And the man who sang The Queen Is Dead said of the Royals: "The very idea of Charles being king is laughable. You might as well say that Ronnie Corbett will be king one day. I think that would give people more pleasure." Moving on to a rant about modern celebrity, Morrissey was asked about Jordan and the Beckhams. "I was interested in intelligent celebrity," he sniffed. "The word now is so base and disgusting and seems to apply to anybody that is anything but a celebrity." While Morrissey dislikes most other stars, it seems they haven't got much time for him either. "There have been a few people who have shunned me. Keith Richards ... he knew me, but he didn't actually like me," he said. There was also "somebody else who just completely blanked me in a shocking way, who just completely wiped me out of history". The singer later told interviewer Paul Morley that the person in question was former Manchester United star Eric Cantona. Morrissey recently turned down a five million dollar offer to reform The Smiths for a one-off show. He declared: "It has been 18 years since it ended; I don't know them, they don't know me, they know nothing about me, I know nothing about them. Anything I know about them is unpleasant, so why on earth do we want to be on stage together making music? "I would rather eat my own testicles than reform The Smiths, and that's saying something for a vegetarian."
April 21, 200619 yr I dont agree with him on Pete Doherty, Doherty was a useless junkie waster before he met Kate Moss, there's the rather notorious pic of him and Carl while they were still in The Libertines of them showing off their needle marks - the whole "heroin chic" bullsh!t.... So I seriously doubt he needed much encouragement from Ms Moss to take drugs; That being said, I do agree that Moss herself is a druggie waste of space as well and she doesn't even have the excuse of having any kind of discernible talent for anything other than pouting, being anorexic and being an over-paid fukkin' clothes horse....Not that Doherty's in any way a particularly good songwriter or musician, but at least he has some sort of vague artistic substance, it's just not that good.... He's spot on about everything else though....

April 27, 200619 yr I liked Morrisey, but recently he's got on my nerves for some reason. He's getting very boring. And yes he is wrong about Pete Doherty- he was a junkie long before he went anywhere near Kate Moss. He'd probably have to be a junkie to go anywhere near Kate Moss in the first place.

April 27, 200619 yr check this, from this month's Uncut magazine... bitchy, funny but ultimately truthful as ever... and if you buy it you get an alright cd. some hippy stuff on there to be avoided (if if not mixed up with the word :lol: ) but for free why complain when most is good
