May 22, 200718 yr They've not done anything since Holding On For You ? Erm that was on the first album. They've had: Being Nobody - #3 Jumpin' - #6 Everybody Cries - #14 Song 4 Lovers - #5 A Night To Remember - #6 X - #47 Also 2 albums, one which charted at #11 (Being Somebody) and another that charted at #27 (X), both of them flopped however. No one really seems to care about this but I DO. I actually loved Liberty X.
May 22, 200718 yr I loved them too. They had the potential to be one of the best pop bands of all time and I don't understand why it didn't work out like that.
May 22, 200718 yr I think the video for X really stuck the knife in, in terms of bringing the band to an end.
May 22, 200718 yr I think the video for X really stuck the knife in, in terms of bringing the band to an end. True, they remixed the track as well and made it so much worse. The album version of X with a half decent video would have been quite a hit for them, but the dire remix and the low budget video really screwed them up. :(
May 22, 200718 yr Which single was the 3rd album launched off the back of? And another reason for the failure was possibly the direness of the X album cover, very unimaginative :( Edited May 22, 200718 yr by Jark

May 24, 200718 yr Author Michelle: Pop is all cool now PA Entertainment It seems Liberty X aren't cool enough for the pop scene Liberty X star Michelle Heaton has apparently hinted that the band decided to break up because they weren't cool enough for the modern pop scene. The reality TV band announced the split on their website, six years after they finished as runners up to Hear'Say on Popstars. And 26-year-old Michelle, who is married to former boyband member Andy Scott-Lee, reportedly told The Sun that pop had moved on and left them behind. "There isn't a place for our music anymore," she's quoted as saying. "When we first started it was a proper pop era with Smash Hits and Top Of The Pops going strong. Pop is all cool now, like Lily Allen and stuff." The band are currently on a UK club tour but will split to perform solo projects when it ends in June. Michelle, Jessica Taylor, Kelli Young, Kevin Simm and Tony Lundon may still reunite on one-off occasions, but will not be recording any new material together. Liberty X have had eight Top Ten hits, including No 1 track Just A Little which won the 2002 Brit Award for Best British Single. Do you think she is correct or not?
May 24, 200718 yr Yes, I think that's fair comment from Michelle. The pop scene has changed and my personal feeling is that it's X-Factor type shows that did that. So in a way Liberty-X are a victim of the process that created them in the first place. There is little room for pop hits, because the market is take by short term popular X-Factor types and unless your the new thing, then you're going to disappear as fast as your rise to stardom.
May 24, 200718 yr yeah, kinda. i think as a recording artist though, you have to experiment and try new things. doing the same thing all the time is obviously going to bore the hell out of people. they could have had a decent comeback if they'd make the material that's blasted all over the charts today.
May 24, 200718 yr :( They had some great singles, i was hoping for a comeback album :( I hope kellie goes solo
