Posted May 22, 200718 yr :cheer: Just wondering as we are on an Elvis forum, who has ever been to Graceland? I would love to go for the candle light service, But I have read that there is waiting lists of years to get to go to that?
May 22, 200718 yr Hello ;) I went to Graceland a couple years ago. It is a magical experience B) I can't tell you about the Candle light service. That looks very interesting :cheer:
May 22, 200718 yr Hi Robbie's Nurse :cheer: Like Derick, I went a couple of years ago. We’re both very lucky! I stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel which is directly opposite Graceland so I was able to do the walk up to the Meditation Garden early in the morning before the tour buses start. It really is beautiful then. I stayed in Memphis for a week and, besides visiting Graceland (which is an amazing place), I went to Tupelo (where Elvis was born) and also did a tour around Memphis to places which are associated with Elvis. Places that I’d only ever read about. I also visited Sun Studios, The Rock and Soul Museum, The Civil Rights Museum and Beale Street which is such a cool place. I’m glad I first went when it was quieter as we were able to see so much more that Elvis Week or Elvis Birthday Week. :D I’m really excited though, cos I’m going again in August, especially for the 30th Anniversary Elvis Week. I’ve got tickets to see 3 concerts when I’m there and I’ll be visiting Graceland . I shall be going to the Candlelight Vigil, of course, but you don’t have to book this, just be prepared to wait in line for hours to walk up the driveway! I’m also hoping to go on another tour of Memphis, seeing different places that I did before. Can’t wait! Hope you do get to go. You’ll love it! Here’s a link to a thread of some of the pics that Derick and I took when we went to Memphis B) http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=837
