Thanks for the tip, ill check it out! :D Will they tour to accompany the singles collection do you think?

Would be nice! :)

Already on press:

A newly recorded Garbage single, "Tell Me Where It Hurts," will be included on an upcoming best-of collection, "Absolute Garbage." Due July 17 via Geffen, the CD/DVD combo includes 17 audio tracks on its first disc, a second disc with 14 remixes and a DVD with 15 music videos, live clips and behind-the-scenes footage.

Among the acts chipping in with remixes on the bonus disc are UNKLE, Massive Attack, the Crystal Method, Todd Terry and Felix Da Housecat.

Meanwhile, "Tell Me Where It Hurts" will arrive July 9 on two separate 7-inch vinyl singles -- one with the B-side "Bad Boyfriend (Sting Like a Bee remix)" and the other with "All the Good in This Life." The CD single sports the B-side "Betcha." A video for the new song, directed by Sophie Muller, began airing internationally last week.

Garbage has been on hiatus since 2005, although the group reunited in late January to play a benefit concert in Glendale, Calif. It is unknown if further activity is in the offing, as frontwoman Shirley Manson is moving forward with her first solo album.

My fave off the album will always be Metal Heart  That and Why Do You Love Me were worth the cost of the album, the rest of the amazing songs are just a bonus!

oh metal heart interesting choice...personally my favs from that album are - its all over but the crying, right between the eyes and run baby run

I now have a HQ of this thanks to Alin :o

It's a little radio friendly, more laid back compared to some of the 'Bleed Like Me' but I am in love with it.

I am so excited now about the GH and I would have loved to see the hwole of BLM released, especially love the BLM video. <3

I want red boots

oh and I love this single (after Ossy "made" me listen 42 times this morning ;) )

Same thoughts here. It's pretty different by anything they done before (it's more "The Pretenders"-style; in this song Shirley's voice is almost the same as her idol - Chrissie Hynde).

TMWIH it's not really the best song to promote a GH (a lot of fans expected a new "Push It" or "Why Do You Love Me") but they prefer to end 12 years with a ballad (like any album of Garbage, the last song is always a ballad ^_^ ). That doesn't mean the band is over (maybe they will record the fifth album soon, who knows? -- see Gwen Stefani and the intention to re-unite the No Doubt band).

I'm waiting for the solo album of Shirley

I love BLM too! It's very Hitchcock style

The director of all BLM videos was Sophie Muller (also "Tell Me Where It Hurts")

42 times?! :D

impressive!

PS the best part of "Tell Me Where It Hurts" (in my opinion) is the bridge (the part before the instrumental at 3/4 of the song). Really sad (and wonderful)

Its OBV not better than Why Do You Love Me or Metal Heart  But this has grown on me a LOT lately ^_^ A nice direction for them. I just hope Its All Over But The Crying doesnt get the rumoured release later this year...

I've been a huge Garbage fan since the debut album. I can't say I'm in love with the new single. I don't hate it either. I just like it. Personally, I tend to listen to a bit harder/rockier/edgier sounding stuff. But I'm not one of those people who would expect the band to always satisfy their persoanal preferences.

Garbage are musicians/artist and what their doing is to constantly rediscover and enrich their unique sound. They are not one of those bands who would put out the kind of music you expect them to. Like it or not, they don't produce music to satisfy thier fans' tastes. They do it because they enjoy experimenting, pushing the boundaries and mixing genres and noises that seem weird and incompatible at first. That is exactly what makes them Garbage and that is why I immensly respect them. I think they do live up to their name. And there is nothing wrong about this because I can't think of another name which would better suit the band. They create something beatiful from something that seems pure garbage to the others.

Back to the topic - I'm really really grateful that after all those years of hopes we will get a DVD from the band. I appreciate the fact that they are still together and managed to produce new material. Now all I want them to do is to get together for a minitour and take part in some of the summer festivals in Europe :)

How do we think this will do on the chart? :o

I'm thinking low top 10/top 15 myself.
