It would be nice if she did, but I think Bono has it in the bag tbh. I'm not that keen on U2 myself though. :o
I voted. B) You can vote up to ten times, then it says you can't vote anymore. I hope Enya wins, but it'll probably end up being Bono. He is a great musician, sells more stuff than anyone else in Ireland, and does lots of humanitarian stuff, so I guess if he does he deserves it, but I still want Enya to win. :D

It says this: "The closing date for nominations is Friday, 20th July 2007. The awards ceremony and gala dinner will take place in the City West Hotel, Saggart on Saturday, 8th September 2007 and will be televised live by RTE."
Ohhh I hope Enya makes an appearance there, even if she doesn't win. ^_^

This still has a long while to go doesn't it? :o

In conscience I couldn't vote for an Irish musicican who refuses to perform live. The Irish musical culture is very much about live performance so I don't think Enya deserves to win this one.

Sorry.

That's fair enough. The singing live issue will always be debatable in regards to Enya. It'd be a lot better if she did do live performances imo, though if they're anything like the May It Be one then perhaps she's better off miming. I think the performance of Its in the Rain at the WMAs 2006 was live though... there were a few wobbly moments anyway.

I still think she deserves it..there's a reason she doesn't play live..it's because of all the layering, at least that is how I feel about the situation. I know there has to be a good reason for her not playing live, so I'm content with her decision. She has made so many wonderful pieces of music (ex: Ebudae ) I just can't see a reason why she shouldn't win..but people are always going to debate that point, I guess..I just don't feel like seeing Bono win, I just feel he has had enough spotlight time and it's time to give another talented artist a chance.

I think she was nervous when she sang May It Be and I really can't blame her for being so because I know what that's like..so I still give her props..like I say, I know there has to be a very good reason why she does not perform live.

I would love for her to sing live more and to do concerts. B) But if she doesn't want to or isn't comfortable with it, I don't see why she should. She's been hugely successful without concerts or much promotion, so she doesn't need to do it for that reason. And she isn't a traditional Irish musician. She sings her own style of music, not traditional music, so she doesn't owe it anybody that she should perform live. It isn't "Ireland's greatest traditional musician", it's "Irleands greatest musician." :D
May It Be is actually a very hard song to sing live though I bet actually. Very slow and controlled.

Yeah, nobody can do a cover of her songs remotely near as good.

Yes, it is, and it seems that people enjoy embarassing themselves by butchering it in public in front of large crowds of people.
