Macca too latte for chart

teletext.co.uk

Sales of Paul McCartney's new album in Starbucks may not qualify to the chart.

Memory Almost Full is the first release on Starbucks' record label Hear Music. But the firm may not have finalised a deal with chart compilers OCC in time for its release on June 4.

OCC say they are in talks for sales from Starbucks' 540 stores to qualify, but added it usually takes six weeks for fresh sales outlets to be added.

If true, then this is a farce. I've bought plenty of albums from Borders (part of the Starbucks franchise) in the past and I never realised they did not count towards the chart? :arrr:

Paul McCartney - Dance Tonight video

The lead single from Paul McCartney's 21st Post-Beatles Studio album "Memory Almost Full" features actors Natalie Portman & Mackenzie Crook in the "fab" new video.

Borders are nothing but great big RIP-OFF MERCHANTS. Their albums are simply extortionate.

Coffee's good though I agree -_-

For chart albums I agree.

But they are great at promoting singer-songwriters.

Without having a local Borders I probably would not have got into Rufus Wainwright, Nerina Pallot, Fiona Apple, Cat Power, Joanna Newsom, Joan As PoliceWoman, etc.

Borders will count towards the charts.

I think they mean sales from 540 starbucks shops will not count.

I heard the song for the first time a couple of days ago - it pains me to say it - but it is just dreadful.
