Posted May 24, 200718 yr Yet another award! The Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse and Madonna were among the winners at the 52nd Ivor Novello Awards today. Newlywed Amy scooped Best Contemporary Song for her self-penned hit Rehab, and the Sheffield-based Arctic Monkeys collected the Best Album Award for Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not. May 25, 200718 yr I'm very pleased for Alex. The Ivor Novello awards always appreciated The Smiths (Morrissey/Marr) songwriting talents back in the 1980s more than the public or the BRITs as fellow songwriters do seem to have superior taste than Music Business Executives or the general public.
